Second fiddles cannot be compared to leaders, Kobe can only win as a sidekick to a dominant big. Kobe taking a back seat to this era's leaders. Sidekick is something though, so don't take this so hard Kobe fans.

What has Kobe ever done in Basketball that is better than Jordan? He always needed to be compared to the best of the last 10 years or so.. Mainly Duncan and Shaq. He is for sure a top 10 player ever.. The 3 best of the post Jordan era are no doubt Duncan, Kobe and Shaq. He was never in Jordan's league...

It's not a knock on Kobe, but he should have never been compared to MJ in the first place. They should put him in the convo of the guys who are not the best at their positions (MJ, Duncan....), but right there below it.
NBA marketing, "passing the torch" and all that jazz to bring in the casual fans.
This Kobe and MJ comparison officially ended in 2006 and Kobe reconfirmed this myth/lies/illusion in 2008 against the Celtics. There never was a legit MJ comparison since then.

Well, nobody would ever question the fact that Shaquille was far and away the best player on those 2000-2002 Laker teams. Bryant coattailed. Period.
Bryant has only two Finals MVP trophies...at least one of which is a joke (i.e. after the 6-24 Game 7).
Tim Duncan has three. So in my mind, Bryant has more work to do before he can be compared to Duncan, much less to Pippen. And NEVER, EVER to Michael Jordan.
