You talking playing styles or what they achieved?
Grant Hill was probably the most prolific SF before his ankle injury so he'd be Durant
Rose probably Kevin Johnson or Tim Hardaway
LeBron James, obviously Pippen
Wade: Drexler or Sprewell
...equivalent to Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant in the 90's?
Just curious.

Honestly those guys are all unique players. They remind me of no one from the 90's.
at Kobe being "close" to Jordan
Everything...styles, dominance, stats.
che can't read.
Guy above made a good point, all those players are very unique. Like trying to compare someone to Dirk
Durant: Grant Hill (Kevin taller though and Grant more explosive off dribble)
Rose: Kevin Johnson (really Iverson)
Wade: Sprewell (Don't remember Spree's D)
James: Pippen (but more explosive)
Howard: Ewing![]()
Who said Bean was close?
There's never ever been any inference of MJ NOT BEING THE SOLE LEADER.
With Bean...he's Robin. When he's Batman, he's like that 60's version starring Adam West. We clown him too.
since your a fellow filipino, i can kinda understand why you dont know the difference between "close" and "closest".
Thanks Newcastle for you honest opinion to the thread.
Of course dougie
Huge Kate fan here too. Whose sneakers are in your sig?
I get the difference. But it's like saying that Steve Blake is close to John Stockton because they're both White Point Guards. It ain't close.
Well if no one is "closer" to John Stockton then Steve Blake, then yes, Steve Blake is the "closest".
Yeah, Rose is def. pre-injuries Kevin Johnson (so basically 1992 or before)
I'd compare Grant Hill more to Lebron than Durant. Both 90s Hill and Lebron were mediocre jump shooters who couldn't be stopped taking the ball to the hoop with excellent court vision and great assist numbers. Lebron is basically Grant Hill with even more size and even more athleticism, I don't see the comparison between Durant or Hill at all.
I really don't see any 90s player very comparable to Durant, which has a lot to do with Durant being a newer generation type player. Prolific scorer who lives at the free throw line, skinny and long as a rail, and shoots a ton of jumpers.
Wade is probably Drexler but I don't have a whole lot to go off there other than statistical similarities.
"Closer" is a relative term. Allen Iverson is closer to Yao Ming's height than JJ Barea. It doesn't mean that he's almost as tall.
Good point
Hill - LeBron
Pippen - Durant
is better. Although like you said, Pippen isn't scoring as often as Kevin but they are both tall and lanky (Scottie early on)
fifyIf Kobe is the closest to T-Mac in the 2000's....
I'm not even gonna argue about the term anymore. I think a majority of spurs talk posters comprehend the question correcly.
Yeah, Pippen's also an extremely unique player.
You don't see guys as good as Pippen take on secondary roles as defensive specialists and passers these days. You'd never see a 6'10" perimeter player 10 years ago, and you'd never see a perimeter player outside of Michael Jordan shooting 10+ free throws a game back then. Durant's game basically designed for modern day basketball. Skinny athletes who can shoot jumpers and get to the line.
I'd say Lebron reminds me of a young Shawn Kemp.
Dwayne Wade is tough. Can't think of any right now.
Durant is a much more athletic Glen Rice. Similar game.
Rose reminds me alot of a young Marbury.
speaking of John Stockton, I'm thinking Nash.
Got to go pre-90s for the best comparison to Durant: George Gervin.
Mark Price was Nash before Nash.
This
Does Marbury even count though? He's one of those guys who's career started in the late 90's an went on through the 00's
