He's only 6'8? the man plays alot bigger than that. We'd likely have to trade into the top 10 to grab him. Good PF to rebuild around though.

He plays a lot bigger than Blair, Bonner, or Dice. 7'2 wingspan.

That's cool. But he just ed over the Longhorns fan base. But he wouldn't be the first to do that. Durant gets pass for leaving after his Freshman year since he should have been the #1 overall pick. Everyone else gets a " you" from me. Thompson could have turned into a force and possibly a top 3 pick in a couple of years. Right now he's probably a late lottery pick in a weak draft class. Kids like him can take out insurance policies.

I'm a bitter Longhorns fan tired of seeing talented kids bolt after their first or second year.

I know. Makes me sick. And people wonder why the draft classes have been weak in recent years. NCAA game would be much better if the NBA changed the rule to a two year minimum.

Blair has a wider wingspan than that. Short is short.

Yup 2nd overall but he was at Texas for two years. Injured for most of the first year though. Aldridge has 2 inches over Thompson. I'm sure Thompson is still growing. I just feel this kid should stay another year to work on his game and possibly be a top 3 pick next year.

LOL at anybody complaining about guys leaving early. There's money sitting there waiting on him, if he gets hurt or his stock goes down, all of a sudden that money isn't there anymore.

If any poster here had the ability to play basketball well enough to be paid for it, they'd grab their HS diploma and hop on the first plane to Greece.

Unless he would have put up 23points-12 boards/3 blocks I don't think he could have gone top 3 in next year's draft seeing as how the 2012 draft will be crazy deep.
I wouldn't rule out 20-10 line sop re season. He put up 13-8 as a freshman. The big key would have been FT shooting. He went 127/261 for 49%. 7 FT avg per game is crazy good as a freshman. Improve his FT over the summer and 20ppg avg isn't out of the question.

KBP might try to fondle me the second I got off the plane, since I would instantly be the best player in Greece.... BLEEPIN NO!!!

-Tristan Thompson is the only one-and-done player in this class, and while he doesn't stand out overall, his ability to get to the line is an incredibly valuable skill.

No player in this group of big men got to the line at a higher rate than Thompson. More than a quarter (26.3%) of his possessions resulted in a free throw, which is a pretty staggering number.
