    agree.

when it's all said and done, the spurs accomplished in 10 years what most teams in the NBA have never even smelled.

    - good FO
    - HOF coach
    - ability to make somehting out of nothing

at the end of the day, Spurs are cream that rises to the top, even if I can't stand your team.........its' all good
They have most definetly made a great little brother in the western conference. Oh but for a few plays this way or the other and it would be reversed. Either way, the west rules!

Anyone see Sportscenter today? They had like 5 consecutive things Laker related in a row. That's why the Lakeshow will never be totally down for long.

I agree with the one who said that there's changing of the guard in the NBA. The 2000s was dominated by both the Lakers and Spurs, but as we speak, the next decade is being taken away by a new generation.

Personally, I can't complain about what the Spurs have achieved and although it's painful to admit, it looks like the Duncan window is already closed. The Lakers on the other hand, can still reload and get a few useful pieces to contend next year. I'll give the Lakers a year or two before finally shutting down the Kobe Bryant era.

The Spurs were the Lakers biggest rivals in the Aughts...very well-run org. Very big accomplishments for a supposed small market team.

Nah Cully, I'm just facing reality as it is. Lakers can still contend next year even without PJ and knowing how well that franchise is run, getting the right pieces won't be a problem for them.

The Spurs on the hand hand, have become the 2000-2003 version of the Jazz. Unless we'll be able to convince teams to get RJ/Bonner/Blair, we're just going to get bounced in the playoffs until Duncan calls it a career.

You know it sucks when two teams should both be embarrassed...36 and 8= an end to TWO eras.
Very true, Laker fan. S.A. got bested by a younger, hungrier, stronger and vastly more athletic team. L.A. got bested by a old-ass, hungrier and more focused team.

, who would've ever thought that Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich would be out-coached by Rick Carlisle and Lionell Hollins? Life ain't fair sometimes..........

Going to be a while before you see rivalries like the Spurs and Lakers had from this new generation of players. To a good decade.

I have said this before & I know that Lisa Leslie would agree with me…

If you remove Kobe, Artest & Bynum for the LA Lakers roster, the LA Lakers could not beat the LA Sparks in a 7 game series….

No . If you remove the best 3 from any team the rest would be hard pressed to do anything. However a boys HS team could beat the Sparks.
