Yeah I gave up on Jimmy as a mentor, but I think he needs to be a judge for next season and get rid of both Steven and J-Lo.

The songs of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, who wrote music for Elvis Presley, The Drifters and The Coasters, among others. The new? The guest mentor is Lady Gaga. Her teaching session with Scotty should be interesting.

I respect lady gaga as a musician. She's a pretty talented piano player and singer. She's no slouch like most pop stars that just record songs submitted to them. A d I'm just speaking from a musician stand point. All that other crap she does is just a distraction.

Just so happens I actually watched last night. Geez, did Haley get pissed at Randy. Wow. I've never seen a look that piercing, but damn did she have an answer for them. I think Scotty may go. MAYBE, Lauren.
Well, I don't understand why the judges don't criticize anyone else but Haley, seemingly. They give her a bunch of all the time about not knowing who she is as an artist, but they never say anything about how Scotty never gets out of his comfort zone, or neither does James. Or the fact that I can't remember one single performance that Lauren has given all season.
Haley is the only one changing it up, and that used to be almost a requirement from judges in the past, and yet she's getting penalized by it. At least she's showing them some at ude.
I think Haley will go (or maybe Lauren as a long shot). Scotty and James are probably never at risk.
She's also probably pissed that Randy kept saying he felt that she was screaming yet has never said anything about James excessive, unnecessary screaming in every song.
Yeah. Overall the "judging" last night was laughable. Especially when Steven's panties got in a bunch. That was a bit odd.
Yeah it really was odd, I'm not even saying they were wrong about what they told Haley, just that they don't really tell others the same thing.
And she usually is the one that seems to take most of the criticism, which wouldn't be a problem if they just criticized others instead of making it all rainbows and lollipops....James, Scotty....
James will never get criticized for his screaming because that's who HE is. From day one, James has been the Rocker dude. Haley is a great singer, but I'm not sure what type of artist she is.

That's fine. But at what point do you start criticize the excessive screaming? Or the fact that he takes songs and basically does karaoke with them while other aspects of his vocals go overlooked because he puts on good, showy performances. Does he get a pass that he's not a great singer because he knows he's the type of artist he wants to be is a rocker guy?

Like I said, I'm not saying Haley didn't deserve the criticism, but it should be equal among all contestants especially at this point in the compe ion.

I was totally into the voice when I thought it was an amateur talent compe ion, then I started seeing faces I recognized... an actress from Maid in Manhattan that I know is also a professional singer... Dia Frampton, lead singer of band Meg and Dia, who I've seen on tour twice with Angels and Airwaves and Death Cab for Cutie. Dude, Meg and Dia have several albums out, have toured the world with some pretty big acts... I would hardly call them amateur. I'm a little let down...
