    I think the Lakers were a contender tbh. They had one really impressive stretch Post AS break but anything after that was hot garbage. They were dropping 4 game losing streaks against bad and good teams all season long. The sign was there and most people knew their time was up. They had way too many issues that were not resolved in the regular season, it built up and come playoff time they imploded.

    them stealing Tony Allen away in free agency is what sealed the deal. They planned on not playing him at all, they just knew the Spurs wanted him as that elite wing defender! He's only playing because Rudy Gay's injured
