At what point other than that short run post all-star game did they look like one? They looked vulnerable all season long and in their first round match-up. They were considered the 'favorites' simply because they were the defending champs and media darlings, not because their play indicated that they were.

memphis was supposed to be a measly 8 seed, of course noone respected them or thought much of them before the playoffs...theyve earned that respect and shown that theyre a very good team not just with their series win against the 11' Suns but also with their play in this series vs OKC. it has nothing to do with with being butthurt or trying to justify an embarrasing outing and everything to do with giving props to a team that has earned that praise.
