My dads in a rec league, and ive gone out and played with them a few times. I gotta tell ya that they play pretty physical, i think bonner might get pushed around.
Read an interview with Billy Walton after he Champed with the Celts in 1986. The subject was whether or not there are NBA level skill players around who are not in the NBA. Not in organized ball at all. Walton said emphatically there were pickup games in LA where the big men absolutely cleaned his clock. He added no bullstick about how he wasn't trying, etc, he said these guys just reemed him. He was saddened that in his opinion there were not dedicated enough to be in the NBA. I call b.s. on that aspect of Bills assessment but nonetheless...
The question is not a joke. San Antone County must have 2 million plus and as with nearly any large city you're going to have guys who can ball. Now I'm not saying SA has as much street talent as SoCal but still....

bonner is a piece of . any scrub would set a hard screen on him and challenge him to a fight and that cuckold would run to his wife.
Bonner is a weak, unathletic, ginger, spot up shooter. Who would set him up in a rec center? No one, he can't handle or create his own shot. Angry blacks would dunk on him all day. He wouldn't be able to hide at the three point line. They'd make him his and attack him in the post at every opportunity.
Bonner wouldn't even have to score to become the MVP, I mean has ANYONE in the history of the NBA ever stretched the floor like Bonner?

I hate Euroleague, but Matt Bonner would never be MVP there. NEVER!
I'm 100% he would not play 20 minutes for any club in Euroleague.
The guy's a scrub and everyone should know that.

All jokes aside, you would be insane not to believe Bonner would tear it up in a common rec league. NBA player he is. Take the tiest NBA player & he would look great compared to others outside the Pro leagues.
So it would be no different from the nba, then.
No one plays defence at the rec so Bonner would be a super star there.
