lol, this show is totally ed. it's jumped the shark. easily the worst top 3 ever, Haley and the chubby blonde girl should never have made it into the top 5 and scotty is a pussy for not trying to do that Harry Nilsson song.

The only people more overrated than James were Scotty and Lauren.
Obviously James wasn't one of my favorites, but Scotty and Lauren were so much worse. I thought parts of James' vocals were overrated, but at least he was more versatile than both Scotty and Lauren, and way more entertaining.
Sucks for James but that's the way it goes.
Next week is "Hometown Hero" week where they go back to their hometowns and chill. It's going to suck with 3 people totally lacking in sociable personalities. Haley's obviously a corporate tool, Lauren can't handle the pressure, and Scotty is too y...at least James would have interacted with fans and made it exciting.

IMHO, James is easily a better singer than Scotty and that Haley is not all that hawt. I'm done watching as I know neither of the last three will make it big.
And Scotty's country voice, IMHO, has been done before many times. He'll have a pretty good county & state fair tour though.
It's all about marketing...
I guess the show's producers along with that lame record company they are in bed with...
Decided that these last three give them 3 very young people that will jump through all their hoops to make everyone a ton of money in the future.
Lauren and Scotty will milk the nashville puke/new country cow...
While Haley will get glammed up and sell her looks in the jazzy/nouveau pop arena...
James will be alright though...he will probably grab a decent gig somewhere....
Pretty disappointing to see Lauren and Scotty go this far on their meager talent....but not surprising...I said it when they found Scotty during the auditions...that this kid could already be on any country radio station...
All I know is that Jordin Sparks looked very hot!
Scotty's voice is more suited for oldies country.

I am so over American Idol. I told my parents, who adore this show, that it was clear from the start that Scotty, Lauren and Scotty were destined to do well because they were country. The heartland votes. No one else does. After James got voted off I heard a scream from downstairs and I was like 'Umm, don't complain you never vote!"
Like someone else said, this show has jumped the shark for sure. It needs to be moved to CMT if this is going to be the continuous result. There are so many more talented people out there. So sick of it. Thank god it's on Wednesdays and Thursdays. At least I can catch Modern Family and Community on those days.

I thought Steve Tyler's video was the best part of the show and yeah, Jordin Sparks looked very nice indeed.

James lost AI by himself by making last weeks performances his own "James Durbin Concert"! It still a compe ion and he didn't treat it as one. I think people who were indecisive about him probably got turned off by his "second performance" when he got up on that small stage/platform and stopped singing to intice the audience to sing along/cheer. At that point James was "full of himself" and probably thought he should win. In other words he seemed arrogant! The judges didn't help matters either by telling him he was the best of the night, that he should win, blah, blah, blah!! You take away the Adam Lambert wannabe persona, the flamming pianos, the famous guitar players, explosions, and other props, you are left with a guy with average vocals at best! Scotty, Haley, and Lauren deserve to be in the top 3. Their performances may not have had the explosiveness of James, but they each sang well and stayed true to who they are. They didn't try to imitate someone else!

I'm just thankful for dvr . . . I've watched a total of 15 minutes of this show all season.
Scotty- I thought he had three performances tonight! He had his best performance with his first song.
Haley- She had three strong performances tonight especially the Led Zeppelin song.
Lauren- She forgot or lost her way on one of the songs. She did well overall!

Me too! I think the commercial breaks are 10 minutes long. I fast-forward through all of them and all the inane banter and--voila--two hours of American Idol becames 20 minutes of singing.
I'd say either Scotty or Haley are going home.
I thought they all did pretty good.
