ing Rudy Gay man.

According to Jonathan Givony of Draft Express, the Cavaliers reportedly offered the fourth overall pick in exchange for small forward Rudy Gay.
There will be plenty of chatter about Gay's availability throughout the offseason, but owner Michael Heisley is already on the record as saying the superstar won't be traded. There's still a possibility that Gay and his max contract will be moved, but it's probably going to take more than just a top five draft pick for the Grizz to give him up.
The criteria for superstars has clearly been diluted.
1st pick for manu? he played with a broken arm
great in player![]()
Wtf? If I were the grizzlies, I would take this deal and run.
This...Rudy's a good player..but a superstar he is not.
Not in this draft...
No! Not that guy!
Fisher/Walton for 4th pick..Do it!
CROFL. How noble of Cleveland to offer that ty #4 pick for an efficient 20 ppg scorer who can shoot the three, rebound, hit pressure shots, and who is only 24. I guess a GM can't help but try after the Gasol trade though.
Where are all the numbnuts who where saying Rudy Gay is the Grizzlies best player?
Exactly, horrible deal for Memphis
Rudy Gay is their best player. He might not be the most impactful, but overall, he is their best player.
Zbo's very solid year doesn't change that.
DPG21920 with the mutha in goods!
A team doesn't usually improve when they lose their "best" player. Gay is a damn good player, but defensively the Grizzlies were better with Allen and Battier filling in.
Randolph was the Grizzlies best player this year. No doubt about it.
are you kidding? All Gay does is chuck up terrible shots and doesn't play any defense.
The #4 pick in this draft is the #15-20 pick in any other draft
/thread.
No way Memphis does this.
1st pick yes, you do it in a heartbeat ESpecially if you like Knight or another PG at #4
or I would do it if they offered Conley and Gay and you send them Irving and 4th pick but i doubt either side will pull the trigger.
Conley was a buckeye ...
Darrell Arthur for the 4th pick is reasonable IMO
No way that the 4th pick is enough for Rudy Gay, but...
Gasol and Battier will both be free agents this summer. You know that they want to keep Gasol and it's likely that they want to keep Battier. They could come to the conclusion that the salaries for Gay, Randolph and Conley along with potential changes in the CBA could price them out of keeping Gasol and Battier.
So they could view the proposed trade as Gay for the 4th pick plus the financial flexibility to retain Gasol and Battier.
They will retain Gasoline no matter what.
Now if it's between the 4th pick and Battier or Rudy Gay then it's a no brainer.
Hope the Cavs revisit this scenario closer to the draft.
