Care to provide any objective proof that Hill has regressed from season 1 to season 3?

*see Phoenix series/Nash assraping of hill last year---and most of this past season...unless you are a blind homer

This doesn't even deserve comment. Get back to me when you review what actually happened in that series.
I don't need to explain to you or go back to it...I was there...I saw that Pop the bed the way he always does since 2006 when he went small to match-up with Dallas.

We were talking about 2009, but nice mini-meltdown.

Really? Have you checked out where he ranks in turnovers/48 and assists/turnover?
In this world, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. What good are those numbers when the kid isn't running the team. You do know who handles the ball, executes the offense and makes plays for others when TP is on the bench? It's Manu.

When George Hill learns how to execute a fricking simple pick-n-roll, then we can have a debate regarding his progress as a backup PG. Until then, he's just a nice, comiplimentary young player, who is too short to be a shooting guard and hasn't yet learned the nuances of playing PG. Both of which are major deficiencies on a Spurs team, that can ill-afford any at either position.

You just said a whole about George, much of which I would agree with. I'm not really sure why you felt the need to state so much that is so obvious. I didn't say anything that suggested I believed the contrary.

The stats I mentioned in the post you responded to were about Dragic. He has plenty of deficiencies as well, some of which are highlighted by the stats I referred to.

It's the expectation game. Some people around here expected Hill to evolve into a near All-star level player. He has improved offensively and he's handled heavy minutes. On the defensive side, it's been a team-wide regression so it's hard to tell how much he's regressed as an individual. He's certainly no Bruce Bowen, which is another irrational comparison that some folks around here made about George earlier in his career.

He's a perfectly good complimentary guard who fits very well in a backcourt led by Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
    fair enough

Goran Dragic is just a solid backup point guard, of course I'd like to see him in a Spurs jersey. George Hill's the better player, I wouldn't trade him straight up for Dragic, but there's a good chance Dragic would be the better fit. As much as I like Hill, he just seems like great trade bait to me.

    Agree completely.
If anyone expects any Spur to be an all star, they have a lot of wishin to do.

Hill's a good player, but what role does he have on the Spurs? Is he a defender? Is he a scorer? Dragic's #'s were better after he got to Houston by the way.

Honestly, I don't know enough about Dragic other than the series that he torched the Spurs in game 3, but I have noticed Hill to start to have a trend of fading in the playoffs - if you call 2 series and a few important regular season games as being a trend.

I think if you can move his attractive contract with one of the bad contracts to improve an area the Spurs need, you do it.

Understand - and don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that Dragic is miles ahead of Hill or that he will ultimately be a far better player. I just for what the Spurs need NOW - they need a true backup PG instead of an underdeveloped combo guard.

No doubt that Dragic has better PG skills than Hill, but that's a very low bar to hurdle. Check the numbers, Dragic is not a true PG and, like Hill, would be the third best PG on the team.
