Mavs going to the Finals has upset CryHavoc
You guys are awfully defensive. Just because I think Miami is going to win (in 7 grueling games) means I'm "upset" at your team. Ok. You guys have that us against the world victim type role down awfully well.

    Cry Havoc... U MAD?
Dear god, I'm furious. You wouldn't believe. One of the classiest, most loyal, incredible offensive forces in NBA history potentially getting a ring just makes my blood boil.

Mavs fans: Leading the league in the ability to talk about how horrible their team is/blow it up in the offseason, to picking against us = hating us, to planning the championship parade before the Finals has even started. Quite humorous.

Please show me where I'm discrediting them?
    oh boy!

Portland - Decent team but still trying to find it's iden y.
Lakers - Yeah, about that. They were horrible in all aspects.
Thunder - Good team but hasn't formed a cohesive group to translate into defensive stops when necessary.

I mean, come on, JJ Barea has been terrorizing teams in the playoffs. That should say all you need to know about the kind of defenses Dallas has played against in the first 3 rounds.

So are you willing say that the Lakers were as good this season as last? Because I'm fairly certain that 90%+ of NBA fans outside of Dallas will disagree with you. They played an incredible series against a team that was still extremely potent, just not at their peak. Sweeping the Lakers who were perhaps an 8.5 or 9 overall instead of the 9.5 they were last season does NOTHING to discredit the Mavs. Your team still manned up and beat the out of them.

Please don't act like anybody really thought Dallas had a remote chance at beating LA before the series.

Lakers brought back the same team that won the 2010 championship... Artest/Bynum/Kobe/Gasol/Odom/Fisher... only difference was Mavs forced them into submission.. and Dirk owned Gasol..

Dear God spurs fans sometimes pfffff

So the Grizz outplaying us on every damn aspect of a basketball game are not the better team. If Manu healthy, if Pop had played Manu the first game... blabla

Now the Mavs have not been tested ? even sloppy, if not for the mavs, the lakers would have defeated every nba teams on their way, easily, except 2 teams in the east.

Don't forget that, even damn impressive, the Miami team is a brand new team with some adjustments to be made: see involving consistently Bosh in the Offense, better execution in the fourth, 3 pts shooting (Miami needs to know what they want, one game they shoot 15 3s, the other game they shoot 5 against the same team while the FG% is the same), Wade is up and down since Lebroun took the clear leadership...

Miami or Chicago will be much better next year, for Dallas it's now or never, a Miami loss would just be learning curve. Mavs have everything they need this year to take the LOB trophy.

I do seriously think the Mavs are the favorites and they should behave like that playing with confidence.

A loss would be a choke job, there is no better word for that.

Unfortunately for your comparison (but fortunately for the Mavs), teams don't play how they're billed to play. Obviously if that were true, no majority prediction would be wrong, and we could sim out every series on 2k11. The bottom line is the Lakers were lackluster all season. There were cracks showing with the big losing streaks they endured, and then they let two games go against a New Orleans team that barely had any business being in the playoffs. People didn't want to pick against the Laker mystique and most of all sports writers don't like picking against Kobe, because "he's the clutchest player ever" and such hyperbole.

You're basing the play of the Lakers on media hype? If so, you guys bought into it too, because I didn't see many Mavs fans talking about beating LA when that series started.

Of course, I bought into it. I thought the Lakers would us sideways like no tomorrow. But after we swept them, I realized the obvious and that is we were just a damn good team and admitted I was wrong.

I didn't try and revise history, diminishing the Lakers, by saying stuff like "oh it was obvious we were gonna win due to blah blah blah losing streak in the regular season"

    Mavs in 5.

DAL loses the first, causing Spur fan to circle-jerk so hard that the Tex-Mex-scented ejaculate can be smelled all the way in the basement.

They then win a thriller in Gm 2. Win the 3rd game handily, w/ Terry having another ridiculous shooting night from outside. The 4th is another thriller (possibly in OT w/ Dirk going god-mode yet again), and the 5th game they close it out, w/ some unlikely hero (Peja or JJ coming up big).

Obviously the Mavs are a damn good team. Great team. Excellent team. Tyson Chandler has put you guys on another level. There are (probably) zero teams in NBA history who would have been able to beat the Mavs in Game 4 against LAL. And they're going to give Miami fits, I have no doubt about it. It's going to be a of a series. I'm picking the Heat on almost a coin flip, mostly due to the fact that they both play great defense but Miami has a legitimate 2nd option to score. If Butler was still playing, I'd probably say Dallas in 7.

Also, I'd like to see how many Spurs fans are actually rooting for Dallas in this series. I bet more are rooting for Dallas or at least it's relatively close to ~50%.

I wish I could root for the mavs but I can't, thats ing impossible, every game I'm watching with the mavs, I start the game rooting for them and in the fourth I switch for the opponents... crazy like the bermuda triangle.

Anyway they win the serie in 6

Ever since the end of our last le run we've been subjected to bag Laker fans gloating about back-to-back championships after the Gasol robbery. Before that we had to listen to idiot Mav fans in 2006, but their chokejob in the Finals eased the pain. If Dallas wins it this year this site will become unbearable with all the classless Mav trolls. That'll make it 3 straight seasons of our most hated teams winning it.

Anybody else going to take a long hiatus if the Mavs win?
    Heat all the way
Want the heat to win because of all the lebron haters out there. It'll be hilarious.
I used to agree ^ but I realized Lebron will win a ring sooner or later. He is fairly young so chances are he will win multiple rings. Hopefully he won't win more than 3.

On the other hand this is pretty much Cuban's last chance. I rather see Cuban not win a ring than delay the inevitable.
I'm not. Dirk is the only likeable guy on the team I guess (Even though he looks like a when he makes that stupid face and fist pump thing when he makes a big shot). But I can't root for an idiot like Cuban and thugs like Terry, Stevenson, Chandler, Haywood, and Marion. So the Mavs! Go Heat!
    dallas!
    Heat= lesser of two evils.

    Go Heat.

    OKC blew it.
Mavs have never been a likable team. Imo the Heat's Big 3 and their team defense will be too much for the Mavs (and any other team) unless they foul Dirk like crazy.
the Heat and the Mavs... I'd rather see the Lakers then either of those two teams.
I"ll root for the heat because mainly I hate the media and would love to see them squirm once Lebron wins a le. I actually find it entertaining to watch Lebron and Wade. I dislike Cubes and Jason Terry so it would be nice to see them go bonkers against Miami. On the plus side if Lebron wins it all then the spurs will be the answer to a trivia question as the only team to ever sweep Lebron in the finals.
    Let's Go Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How is Dallas the lesser of 2 evils? I don't remember the owner of the Heat insulting the city of San Antonio and I don't remember a Heat player punching one of our best players in the nards.
What kind of soft, yellow belly Spurs fans are y'all? I don't remember Mav fans cheering on the Spurs when they were out and the Spurs were still in the playoffs - in fact, a lot of my mav fan buddies were rooting against the Spurs (just like my rocket fan buddies.) Dirk's a respected player, but that doesn't trump Cuban, Terry and wife beater Kidd.
As great a player as Dirk is, I will never support the Mavs getting a ring as long as the people he's playing with include Jason Terry, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler etc. etc. etc.
I have no problem with the Heat and honestly don't see why anybody outside of Cleveland would care or hate on him at all. He made the right decision to team up with other star players, which is clear from the fact that they are a hair away from the finals, and regardless of the presumptuous media prognostications. I would have done the same thing if I were LeBron — stuck in a dead end club with no real chance of getting a ring. You can't become a legendary player really unless you work hard to maneuver yourself into the position where you can make it happen.
I don't want Lebron to ring because he teamed up with Wade and Bosh to do it. I don't want the Mavs to ring because Terry is obnoxious enough without one. I am wanting OKC or Chicago to win it. It isn't looking to good for either of them though.

The only scenario that I would enjoy should it be Miami vs. Dallas, would be if the Mavs lose yet again to the Heat in the Finals. That would be hilarious. I am still rooting for OKC and Chicago though
    .

While lebron is a total , dallas is our rival not miami. So as always Dallas!
the Mavs. LA is the only possible series where I'd ever root for them.
I second that, watching all these pussy "spursfans" jumping on dirk's german shlong is rather sickening.
And that's just from one of many similar threads upstairs. The most amusing thing about a lot of the Mav hatred is that it's not just Terry and Cuban anymore (which is understandable), but SOMEhow, it's extended to "wife-beater Kidd", Chandler and Marion. Lulz. Wtf?

First it was Miami won't get past Boston, then Chicago and now Dallas base off the regular season series.

Well it's either blind ignorance or just hate, but this is not same Heat team. Miami plays terrific D and while Dirk goes nuts they will shut down everyone else. As long as they keep the same ball movement they have going and guard the 3pt line, they'll be fine. I could see this going to 7 but I'm calling Miami in 6. Beating Miami's big 3 four times is just to much. Sorry Mav Crew sorry scros but we're temporary at war once it starts...

Heat in 6. Gut feeling and not much more. Dallas has a distinct size advantage but they won't have the undisputed best player on the floor anymore, unlike the first 3 rounds. Dirk may not even be the undisputed second best player on the floor if he goes a little cold after these incredibly dominant first three rounds and Wade and LeBron both find a way to get theirs.

I like the Mavs chances a lot. I always look to see which team plays better in the clutch, especially when these 2 teams are pretty evenly matched.

Dallas has been great at closing all playoffs, while the Heat have been known to struggle in that area. I know spurfan thinks it will be Miami in 4 because they don't know about basketball and they think Miami being big, black, and athletic is enough, but I don't see it that way tbh
At all Spurs fans being . ing idiot....
