Heat in 6. Gut feeling and not much more. Dallas has a distinct size advantage but they won't have the undisputed best player on the floor anymore, unlike the first 3 rounds. Dirk may not even be the undisputed second best player on the floor if he goes a little cold after these incredibly dominant first three rounds and Wade and LeBron both find a way to get theirs.
    True

Only a Mavs homer would think that the Lakers team this year is equal to the champions of the back to back les.
And why wouldn't any "non-Mavs homer" think that? Because Dallas swept them. Had Dallas beaten them in seven compe ive games everyone would be talking about what a remarkable accomplishment it was beating the back-to-back defending lists.

To downgrade the impressiveness of the Laker sweep because it was a sweep is a hindsight argument. It in effect punishes the Mavericks for their own excellence.

    As for the Finals...

Dallas has more good players than Miami. Miami has more great players than Dallas. Who comes out better in that equation?

I'm tired of people saying "Dirk is playing the best ball of his career"... Dirk is ALWAYS like this in the playoffs... except for 2007, which is a fluke.

What Dirk is doing is standard... what the backcourt + Chandler/Marion has done is why this year is different from the 3 years past..
Why should we take your word on this when most of us have seen more or less the same games you did over the years? Plus there're stats that refute your point. Dirk has played great in the past and has had some monster series but he has never played as great and consistently as right now.

Just check his Nuggets series from two years ago. They lost quite handily because even a still decent Howard sprained his ankle and the Mavs had no one else to back him up. But Dirk played an unbelievable series, amazing actually, against better defenders than anyone he's faced this year. Yet no one remembers that series.

i don't remember dirk dominating 3 series like he did this season

On the other news I maybe overestimate miami, they are playing ty bb, not sure mavs will need 6 games

Well they haven't got a chance to play a lot of 3 series, but not due to his fault.

However, last time they did, in 06, Dirk was so amazingly good that our dear Bill Simmons declared him to be in the pantheon of greats and the most complete forward since Bird.

Didn't I say he had monster series in the past? I'm just saying he hasn't played so good, so constantly before. His 46 FG% lifetime against 51 FG% now proves this.

Sorry, but that's ridiculous. Lebron, Duncan, Garnett, Pippen?

Dirk is a great player, but "complete" isn't the first word that comes to my mind when I think of Nowitzki.

I'm not trolling just stating the obvious the mavs are the clear favorites of the finals. The heat is not a bb team, it's a one man show.

I can't imagine the mavs choking twice against Miami.

The Heat got this in 6, and I don't like either team either.

LA was overrated, POR wasn't a legit contender, OKC would've taken them out in 5-6 games if they weren't so mentally weak and if they didn't have guys like Westbrook trying to do too much. MIA has better defense than all those teams, better scoring, and they've got 2 unstoppable guys as well as a post scorer, plus they're experienced unlike OKC. If Harden was able to tear Terry a new asshole so will Wade. Then you have to factor in the amount of FT's they're going to rack up which will be a load.

IMO Dallas got really lucky this year.

I'd like to know how you reached that conclusion from what I said. But keep trying to act like this is the first great playoff performance from Dirk. Even the great Bill Simmons, who's never been a Dirk or Dallas fan, realizes how great Dirk's 06 playoff run was.
