I wonder what caption I could say if I was waiting for the first few people to show to get a good place, during the initial mike check, and was ready to take a picture.

I'd like to see the C&R article this was attached to. I couldn't find it.

From Wisconsin to Florida, Strong Winds of Political Remorse

    http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/...+the+Headlines

After Promising To End Earmarks, Tea Party Freshmen Hog Defense Pork

While talking the big plan to be fiscally responsible the Republican freshmen have packed a huge $553 billion spending bill with millions of pet defense projects for their home districts.[...]

For example, freshman GOP Rep. Bobby Shilling put in $2.5 million for weapons and munitions advanced technology for the Quad City Manufacturing Lab at Rock Island Arsenal, which just happens to be in his district. During his campaign against Democrat Phil Hare last year, Schilling criticized Hare for adding money to defense budgets for the same facility.

GOP frosh Vicky Hartzler of Missouri packed the bill with $20 million for “mixed conventional load capability for Air Force bombers,” for Whiteman Air Force Base in her district. Hartlzler backed the GOP moratorium on earmarks during her campaign. Now she says she didn’t think the moratorium applied to defense spending.

Gov. Rick Scott Uses Sheriffs To Eject ‘Liberal-Looking’ People From Budget Signing Event In Town Square

In his speech Thursday, Scott omitted many of the serious-sounding programs he cut: homeless veterans, meals for poor seniors, a council for deafness, a children’s hospital, cancer research, public radio, whooping-cough vaccines for poor mothers, or aid for the paralyzed.

Many in the community would likely not be pleased with Scott’s cuts, but those voices remained unheard — mainly because they were banned. Declaring the town square event to be “private,” Scott’s staffers had Sumter County sheriff’s deputies remove Democrats and those with “liberal-looking pins and buttons” from the event:

Members of The Villages Democratic Club were barred from the budget signing by Scott staffers who said the outdoor event in The Villages town square was “private.” Other staffers and Republican operatives scoured the crowd and had Sumter County sheriff’s deputies remove those with anti-Scott signs or liberal-looking pins and buttons. They escorted more than a dozen people off the property.

Pointing to the “roughly 4,500 state-worker jobs” the budget eliminates in a state with a 10.4 percent unemployment rate, state House Democratic leader Ron Saunders said, “If he means the ‘jobs budget’ is killing jobs, then it’s an accurate le.”

lol..when you factor in the MOE and undecided votes, the Dems net one vote...everything else is a statistical push or an actual R (1) lead. Outstanding spin, bot.

Of course, this is the kind of thoughtful analysis I expect from the Daily Kos.

List for us which states (governor, legislature) are now dominated by Soros' VLWC (a conspiracy of one person?) and where Soros put his money to buy those states.

On the flip side, Janine Turner just kicked off a radio show in Dallas.

It's buried on late night Saturday night for now, but I'm betting she makes into a weekday slot. There hasn't been a decent progressive voice on am since Bob Ray Sanders in the 90's.

Scott Walker Causes Approval of Obama to Soar in Wisconsin

According to PPP, President Obama now has a 52% job approval rating is Wisconsin. The President’s disapproval rating has fallen to 44%. The spread between his approval/disapproval has doubled since the last time the poll was taken. How blue is this state? Obama has more Republicans who approve of his job performance (11%) than Democrats who disapprove (8%).

The problem for the potential 2012 Republican nominees is that the actions of Gov. Scott Walker seem to have seriously damaged the Republican brand in the state. The potential 2012 candidates are very unpopular in Wisconsin.

    And there's more!!

Rick Scott Effect: Obama’s Approval Rating Skyrockets In Florida

A new Quinnipiac poll released today found that in one month President Obama’s approval rating in Florida has gone from 44% to 51%.

According to the Quinnipiac University poll, President Obama has experienced a net 16 point swing in Florida. The President went from having a net negative approval rating of 44%-52% in April to having a positive 51%-43% job approval rating in May.

Obama has made up most of his ground with Independents, who swung a net 18 points in his direction. The president’s job approval rating with the state’s Independents has gone from 39%-55% in April to 47%-45% today. Obama also gained a net 12 points in Democratic approval from 79%-16% in April to 86%-11% today. Obama experienced a huge swing with men in the state. He has gained a net 22 points. The president has gone from a 19 point negative split in April, 39%-58% to 47%-45% today.

By a margin of 50%-44% voters say Obama deserves a second term. Last month, by a margin of 51%-42% voters said that he did not deserve to be reelected.

Obviously the big change since April was the killing of Bin Laden, but Americans have notoriously short memories and that event took place weeks before this poll was conducted. Something interesting happens when Gov. Rick Scott’s approval numbers from the same poll are compared with Obama’s. As Obama was gaining a net 18 point in the state, Gov. Scott was losing 16 points.

Perhaps, just maybe, I could be reaching here, barrys approval has gone up because America feels pretty good about Osama Bin Laden getting hit! I could be wrong but I doubt it.
