during the Mavs introduction for the NBA finals. He sounded like an uncontrollable beast. It was frightening and inspiring, but heartbreaking to know he could have added that intensity to the Spurs' locker room this year and perhaps alleviated our deplorable defense on the front line significantly. 6-11, young, athletic and intense. What's not to like?

More useful than Bonner or Blair defensively. No debate there.

Didn't realize Ian was on Dallas.

Will have to root for him to ring...only Spurs connection on either team, am I correct?

You are definitely correct that he is the only player connection. I'm not sure about the coaching staff.

I'm not saying he's the next Garnett, but his roar was pretty good. I mean, we could have used some of that. Can you imagine Bonner roaring like that? Didn't think so. Clank!

LOL, well, he's a good cheerleader and could play valuable minutes for the Spurs if they were to give him a chance a la not giving Splitter a chance and instead favoring a 6-4 midget to guard the likes of Garnett, Randolph and the Gasols.

    Sounds like Bonner and Blair.

In fact, I am going to start calling them "Blonner" as they basically represent the same thing - bad defense in the post.

That's what's really missing from the Spurs' lineup, a screamer. They have a pillow biter in RJ, but they really need someone who can scream like a beast because that wins championships.

Blair actually has decent hands, ive seen quite a few steals off of swipes, and if the touches his fingertips on a rebound, its his 99% of the time.

And yes, I also forgot Ian is foul prone on my list of things not to like, and thats the biggest issue because he couldnt stay on the court long enough to progress. Seemed due to his clumsiness, which I did mention.

Ian is a lovable guy but, while he hasn't been a disaster this year, he has done nothing good enough to claim Spurs made a mistake by letting him go.

Ian was interviewed in a french newspaper today and I found interesting what he said about Mavs and Spurs: "I'm not surprised by our success. There is a big mental strength in this team with a group of vets that knows what he want. And the coaching staff listen more at what players are saying. In SA, Pop was controlling everything. Here, there are discussions. Players can carry their point of view. It's well balanced."

    Food for thoughts...

If the Spurs had acquired Butler instead of Jefferson, and Tyson Chandler instead of Dice, and let Red go for whatever, maybe a real backup PG, the democracy aspect would be a moot point. There are many things going on with winning teams, and not all of them have much to do with the winning part.

Interesting. At times, it does seem like some players have stopped responding to Pop. There were many comments all year that hinted they did not agree with many of his decisions.

Not saying he has "lost" the team, or that even Ian's accounts are accurate as I am sure he consults D.P.G. with many decision.
