Ian probably would have fouled out before the 14 minute mark.
    Was anyone really surprised?

Ok, let's just give shout out to the battle squeal. I liked it and everyone should also be good with it. Can't hurt.

From today's Dallas Morning News Maverick Blog with Nowitski answering questions:

    Q. Can you talk a little about the loss of Brendan Haywood for tonight's game and the play of Mahinmi out there?
DIRK NOWITZKI: I think Ian gave us energy. He's very athletic. He's quick on his feet. I actually think he played all right. But Haywood has been big for us in the paint over the last year and a half we had him. He's a big guy, and he can change a lot of shots at the rim. I actually thought Ian did his job tonight.

I thought he did okay too, and some of the fouls they called on him were just pure bullcrap.

But the biggest thing was probably his battle scream - that almost allowed us to win the game. Without it, we wouldn't have been close.

Maybe Dirk only scores 25 instead of 34 without that scream.

Say what you want, but other than the fouls (at least he tried to play defense) he basically had the same stats as bonner for 8 minutes of play: 2 pts. and 1 rebound

not too much of a reach - none of his fouls were and 1's like most of bonner's (it seems at least) and Howard missed his 1st free throw of a 1and1 and Bosh missed one of his, so not that bad. He wasn't horrible for his experience - can't say the same for bonner in the past few years of playoffs.

lol at comparing bonner and mahinmi... what would replacing an underachiever with a never achiever do? comparing scrubs to scrubs. I would want Mahinmi on this team just as much as I want Bonner.... zero.

Oh, it's a reach. He could have literally taken a on the court and eaten it and folks on this board would be saying stuff like "Well, at least it was an athletic . Did you see how fast he turned around and ate it? Bonner and Blair wish they could eat their own that fast."

no kidding, really? Wouldn't have been a replacement - Ian was cheap and bonner's value to the team has and will always be overated. With the money left over (yep $2mil) I still think you could have found someone to be more effective in the rotation of bigs than bonner and blair were in the playoffs.

"And did you see the actual turd? That's a man's turd right there. I doubt anyone on the Spurs could have something like that come out of his body."
