I haven't noticed Dirk in this series, tbh..
When Dirk is out, Miami has outscored the mavs by 31.
When Dirk is in, Dallas has outscored Miami by 23.
Pretty much all of the bleeding has come in the 20 minutes of the series that Dirk is out, while Dallas has outscored Miami in the other 124 minutes of the series.
Either if Peja pulls his head out of his ass, Cardinal gets Peja's minutes, or if they replace those minutes with Stevenson and use Marion at backup PF for those few minutes, the Mavs will be just fine.
Carlisle HAS to find a way to get this fixed though, and keep the bleeding to a minimum while Dirk is out.
On a side note, Dirk must be pretty bad-ass to be out-dueling the 2 best players in the NBA on his own.
I haven't noticed Dirk in this series, tbh..
Mavs are kind of ed in crunch time. Stevenson is no Wade stopper, but he can slow him down. Of course who is going to score when the hard doubles come at Dirk?
You put Terry in the game, and Kidd has to guard Wade.
Crunch time lineup seems to be Chandler-Dirk-Marion-Terry-Kidd. Wonder if Carlisle figures he should have given Stevenson some more minutes.
Aside from game 1, when Wade and Lebron were hitting every jumper, and Dallas kept turning the ball over, the Mavs have massively outplayed Miami in crunchtime.
With Wade, the Mavs need to double him either as soon as he receives the ball, or when the shot clock runs low to force him to either take a bad shot or pass away. Either that, or they need to run him off the 3 late in the clock and give him long 2s. I can live with him taking those.
Can the Floppin Frauline play 45 minutes?
LeBron has in both Heat wins.
Some players are just not Championship caliber players...
Dirk, Jet, Peja, Marion, Kidd...
These guys have never won one because they just don't have it....I always knew that these guys would always talk the talk...but never walk the walk.
Props to the mavs for their run...but they were never seriously going to finish the job.
To Cuban: If you wanna get a ring...you have to sign championship players...If you find free agent veterans that have been in the NBA for a freakin' decade without a ring....there is a reason for that. They just are not meant to be champions and they are missing that championship pedigree...in other words....BALLS.
Like all of your others posts, this one is in stupid.
i think dallas should've traded roddy b and butler for an athletic 3 when they had a chance.
not sure who they could've gotten tho
Didn't Portland get an athletic 3 for next to nothing who likes like an avatar creature tbh
o ya
it would've been cool if dallas could've gotten that guy. i dont know y nobody suggested it on this site
Seriously, I thought this guy was good at trolling but now he's just another ignorant who posts images of dinosaurs and long pointless and endless threads that contain nothing but gibberish. Ifyou'rereading this BUMP and I know you are, you should really start to step your game up you sorry bas .
tbh I was all over them getting GW but i knew it wasn't gonna happen, that's why i never talked about it that much
Never said he wouldn't, I was just stirring the pot IMO
I know it has worked so far but I don't like that thing Carlisle does of benching Dirk pretty early in the game so that he can have him out there by the end of the first start of the second alongside the subs.
It almost guarantees the Mavs a slow start everygame and it forces him to sit Dirk twice per half. Carlisle should just manage Nowitzki's rotation like every other coach does with their stars: Sit him with 2 minutes to go in the first/third and bring him back with 9 or 8 remaining in the second/fourth quarter. You only have him 5 minutes out of the game per half but is actually a lot more time of rest with the break between quarters.
you can't afford to double neither bron nor wade imho, especially when dem ######s both be on court. you've been playing good zone D so go on with it, condense the 3sec area so the heat ######s have to shoot jumpers from outside, they can hit some of wide-open shots but they have no such like peja who makes every shot he attempts if wide open.
on the offensive end, just play more p'n'r or p'n'p at the perimeter and shoot a 3 or 2pt jumper the moment you see such a chance. if the guards go deep into the paint or the corners it would leave the door open to our backcourt. if he (JJB/KIdd/JET) misses the layup or turns the ball over, unless marion or TC grab the O reb or steal the ball back, it'd ostensibly be a fast-break + a slam dunk by wade or bron
Everybody with a brain is saying to play Corey Brewer in place of Peja.
Strong defense, athletic, he can finish on fast breaks with Kidd, and just like Peja he can brick wide open 3's.
I'll take all the positives and live with the negatives that aren't gonna change with Peja.
Of course Carlisle is so goddamn stubborn he won't play him.
it ain't RC's fault that the mavs are losing tbh. RC be a good coach and he did his best, apart from game 1 which was a convincing W for da heat, the following two games were both even match and would've gone either way. we stole a game in Miami and we gave it back in game 3, the result ain't too bad imho. just play a simple p'n'p + shooting game, don't dribble too much so the TO number will go down
Great read.
great read
Are Rick Carlisle and Eric Spoelstra the worst opposing coaches in NBA Finals history?
Discuss.
Peja is absolutely worthless in this series. Can't hit open jumpers and is playing abysmal defense.
You HAVE to play Brewer and Carlisle is an idiot for not doing so. The kid will at least hustle his ass on defense and give something of a positive in terms of effort, as opposed to Peja who will give up more points to the opposing team than he will score in the entire Finals.
