There is not enough evidence to accuse LeBron since he still hasn't won, so defnitely Kobe.

Kobe for sure. He has three rings that every other decent wing player would have won with Shaq during those years. Can't accuse LeBron for that yet, son!

    LeBron.

The Lakers traded for Kobe in that draft and paired him up with Shaq that same summer. Once Kobe's ego got too big to stay in Shaq's shadow, Kobe revolted and helped usher Shaq out of LA so he could be the top dog.

LeBron willingly and voluntarily chose to take his talents to Miami to finally have a chance to win a ring. Because LeBron willingly and voluntarily chose to coattail while Kobe got sick of coattailing, I think LeBron is the bigger one.

And what happened when Kobe got sick of coattailing and Shaq left? He missed the playoffs entirely and was out in the first round. It was only until he had another elite big man to coattail that he made any noise in the playoffs.

In my opinion, you're not coattailing if you're the top dog on the team.

Point is with Shaq, it wasn't Kobe's decision to play with him. It was the Lakers' front office. With LeBron, he chose to go to Wade's team to coattail.

Kobe was a necessity on the Lakers, Shaq got into foul trouble often and needed a good player outside the paint. Kobe had a pretty solid role on his team, he knew his job until around 03.

LBJ joining the Heat with Bosh was a pretty straightforward attempt to get an easy ride to the championships.

    Pop and his PollyAnna Poppers.
"Got to go with Mike Finley, Matt Bonner and Jefferson at the SF/PF combo." Extend them all, pay out the ass.
"He's won 4 les you know." (Never mind 7-14 since he started dating Finley with two first round ousters and swept).

Joel Anthony doin 29 minutes a game in this seasons Heat playoffs. Probably gonna be a le. But but but.....they can't win with a tall with no hands, right? For you Pop Parrots who are gonna come in with his offensive stats, they don't keep stats for "Opposing team decided not to try to take it to the rack since tall D presense was there".

    Real Championships
    Man From Nazr
    Frank Elson
    Rasho Nest (lesser extent)

How is this even a question? Lebron hasn't won . Kobe with his 2 and half championships is the biggest coattail rider in the history of the NBA.

Until Lebron wins a ring with his current buddies, he'll enter this conversation.

I would like to refute that with:

Kobe for sure. He has three rings that every other decent wing player would have won with Shaq during those years. Can't accuse LeBron for that yet, son!
Which leads me to this thought: Would have a Shaq/Manu tandem won more rings that a Shaq/Kobe one? I'm pretty sure that LA would have still won the three that they won and we know there wouldn't have been any ego problems between O'neal and Ginobili, so Manu would have gotten out of Shaq's way in '04 and Superman wouldn't have left LA after that year.

    Manu > Kobe
