Oh you said 360/PS3. Yeah I agree with you. I thought you meant the Wii U.
$300 controller?
Oh you said 360/PS3. Yeah I agree with you. I thought you meant the Wii U.
Obviously no one would buy a Vita just for that but you asked a question and I answered it. They did it with the PSP for a few games so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to do it with the Vita.
Also is the online going to be able to compete with Xbox live or PSN? doubt it.
New exclusive IPs are where its at and that's why Nintendo is on the ass of Rockstar and others to develop games for them. Plus once developers start developing multi-console games for the Wii U and then scale down the games for the 360/PS3, then the Wii U games are going to be the obvious choice to get.
But it's still waaaaaaaay too early to debate this. I think we'll see next year what they bring to the table.
Actually if Sony did that they'd totally steal Nintendo's thunder.
I admit the Vita is starting to grow on me. I have a 3 hour long commute that I spend on a train teach day and the Vita would be nice as to have.
I understand but it's kind of reaching. If Microsoft wanted to add tablet features, they would program the same capabilities to their Windows phones. But having the thing packed in the system is different than adding the capabilities to a small section of devices.
I read Nintendo hired an outside firm to build a new online system for them.
I don't think they're going to start developing games for the Wii U for a long ass time but we'll see.
This.
Nor do I want to s out for a console and be faced with the choice of a horrible controller or an incomplete game experience. Fils-Aime was pretty clear in the press conference yesterday, and in subsequent interviews, that Wii U would have some level of compatibility with the existing controllers, but that using it would fundamentally change the game modes/control schemes available to the player. that.
Gaming innovation is solely geared at the casual gamers anymore. Mom, Dad, and little kids get a bajillion new controllers, the ability to control their TV by speaking (because remote controls are, like, soooooooo difficult), and the opportunity to watch live TV via their XBox360 (seriously, Microsoft, you're pimping the fact I can now watch TV on my TV?). Actual gamers get sequels, more versions of the same game over and over, and slightly better graphics. Woot. I missed most of the coverage yesterday and today and am still catching up via DVR, but so far the only thing that's gotten me at all excited (that I didn't already know about and wasn't already looking forward to) is Insomniac's Overstrike.
But how many bits is it?
I didn't watch the conference, so maybe I'm wrong, but I thought Microsofts TV pitch was that channels would be available more piece meal rather than being a cable package with a bunch of channels you don't watch.
FarCry3 looks good and if they add fast-travel it will be great. I always thought FarCry2 was a little boring because you had to walk/drive long distances just to complete another repe ive mission.
I hope Mass Effect 3 doesn't have those planets to harvest minerals, that was time consuming and boring as well.
It's a pretty limited number of channels, primarily locals. They didn't give a specific line up during the press conference, but I would be VERY surprised if they had cable channels available. At least without an existing subscription to some other cable service. I got the impression you wouldn't be able use it to watch much that you couldn't already see for free with a normal antenna.
Nintendo just announced the Wii U on stage at its E3 press conference, and while the new controller is interesting, we're all wondering just how powerful this "HD" console is. Game Informer's seen the demos shown off on stage in person, and apparently it's about as nice as you'd imagine: Not quite as high quality as the other HD consoles, but definitely better than the standard Wii.

heh..
November is going to be a very expensive month; look at all these games: Battlefield 3, MW3, Uncharted 3, Halo Remake... I'm sure I'm missing some here.
Far as the Wii U.. All I can say is if it gets good 3rd part support (looks like it might) and has some capable online interface then I'm enough of a gamer that I know I'm going to get it.
Damn.. Yeah forgot about that as well. Crazy month.. why can't they release any of that in the summer.. As it is the summer lineup sucks so hard all I'm looking forward to is Duke.
Not only will there be fast-travel, but they're getting rid of weapon degradation as well. s to the yeah
On my first ME2 playthrough, I raped every single ing planet thinking I would need it. Turns out, you barely needed any of it. One of the worst additions to any game, ever. IMO.I hope Mass Effect 3 doesn't have those planets to harvest minerals, that was time consuming and boring as well.
Not sure they should bring back the Rover, but at least it was fun driving off the sides of mountains and blowing up. Hopefully they can figure out an element that is both fun and not immersion killing like scanning was.
Unfortunately, I have zero confidence in Bioware after the steaming pile of that was DA2. They are in a bad cycle of dumbing down each new addition to their IP's, and yes, that includes ME2 (which I still enjoyed immensely)
Ding ding ding, we have a winner, although I think console people suffer from this more than do PC gamers. There is no question that the dumbing down of games, across all platforms, continues unabated.
But, the money is in the casual gamers who easily fall prey to gimmickry like these stupid-ass controllers and useless features like the TV thing. Nothing is going to change until people start to speak with their pocketbook.
Fortunately there are still bright spots and good les coming out, and the end of this year will indeed be epic, at least for the type of games i'm into
They're tech demosWTF do you expect, remember Rubber Ducky?

BTW, can someone list me some of these PC games I hear about at E3? Oh yeah, no one gives a about the PC
Wake me up when there's something worthwhile on the PC that isn't a shooter, Diablo or WoW.![]()
