some Twarnings out in the great lakes region, a moderate risk area
One of the chasers is streaming some tree damage, although I have no idea if it's from a tornado or from straight line winds. Regardless, it seems like a pretty powerful line of storms that's headed right for Toledo and Detroit
there's a chance of severe weather east of the Lubbock area. Not sure if I'm gonna go for it since we don't have a very good chance of them forming tornadoes
did you guys at least get some rain?
Perfect example of why storm chasers are such an integral part of the early warning system
Storm chaser Chad Cowan do ented this strong tornado that affected Southwest City, MO on May 22, 2011 -- this was the same day as the devastating Joplin, MO EF-5. As the tornado approached town, Chad's main focus shifted from photography to alerting authorities, as no sirens were going off and residents were in danger of being caught off guard by this destructive tornado. According to the NWS, Tulsa, "Two double-wide manufactured homes were destroyed, a permanent home was severely damaged, barns and outbuildings were destroyed, a number of other homes were damaged, many hundreds of trees were snapped or uprooted, and many power poles were snapped."
moderate risk for the northern plains today
keep your eyes on the weather if you're in the area

Better dust than the smoke we've got from the Arizona fire here. Its ing disgusting.
I was up in Pierre, SD last week where the Missouri is way over its banks. They are getting hammered tonight with severe storms
Last thing they need is more rain.
That's ing Nuts... No, seriously, get the outta here
CH, where did that happen??? Any idea? Philly maybe?
And lol sex&candy playing in the background. That's gotta be the weirdest tornado vid i've ever seen
here's a sick time lapse in HD
Dumb. They should probably be dead.
I've mentioned to several people that I've wondered if this was one of the reasons why the death toll in Joplin was so high. People see the tornado coming and want to get some footage...and wind up dead about 2 seconds after they realized it was a stupid idea.
Very cool.![]()
Ironically, we haven't gotten any smoke at all in Phoenix.![]()
thats amazing
kidding? that video is weak
Microburst in OK...whoa.
