I wish the Spurs had Tyson Chandler![]()
Still, Jefferson is around a 20-10 guy year in and year out, except for the start of his career with Boston, but it became obvious that Tyson Chandler was exactly what we needed and more.
Jefferson does it on bad teams though. I'm not impressed with his impact on teams. Most noticeably how poor on defense he is.
In my defense I was basing that on what he did in Charlotte and not New Orleans. One of the dumbest things I've ever said on here.
Epic bump.

Not really given exactly what you said. It worked out well for Dallas, but I highly doubt Donnie Nelson knew Chandler was all the sudden gonna because healthy and return to 2008 form. At the time, Mavfan had every reason to be upset about the trade.
I do believe that they got him mainly for his expiring contract and not because of his play. He'd had injury problems and they had just inked Haywood to a big deal thinking he was going to be the answer at Center. Now I bet they're wishing Chandler was still under contract and they didn't have to pay him.
Who would have thought Mark and Donnie would be right all along: The Dust Chip did yield us the missing piece for a le.![]()
A year ago at this time I would have laughed hysterically if you told me Tyson Chandler would be the missing piece to a Mavs championship...JJ Barea could be a key contributor to a le team, and not somebody whose presence on the court made me want to pull an Elvis and shoot the television set.
eg ing zactly. They ran out of time on the DUST chip, so they traded it for another expiring. Nothing about post-08 Chandler would make him a player they coveted with the DUST chip.
It worked out well, but it wasn't a carefully thought-out well calculated decision where they traded for Chandler because he was the missing piece at center.
The funny thing isKC prolly wins a championship if they let that Chandler trade go through and let him get healthy
LOL none of you pseudos applauded this deal on TC's arrival
O YE OF LITTLE FAITH
it seems i was the only one out of the whole board who praised this move, when no one else agreed with me. C used to be the weakline of your squad, the shortest stave of a barrel so even though TC was not the best player available at that time (iggy/ellis/g-force all better players individually), he could be da one last piece to complete yo championship puzzle more likely than any of those big names mentioned above.
it was really a gamble no doubt but it was worthy of taking the risk imho. mavs already have redundant talents at other positions, although they had signed contract atm their paint still looked rather weak. their had no bench depth at PF either but they felt OK with it because marion can play at PF temporarily and they could go small-ball once in a while
Just a bunch of mainstream front running mavfans.
tbh the one trade I would compare it to is the Gasol trade. Memba det one? When the Lakers traded Pau Gasol for his fat little brother and then Marc suddenly surpised everyone and became a stud. Some re s were saying Chris Wallace made some shrewd move and that he could tell in advance Marc would lose the weifght and become a great pro. Meanwhile he was a ing throw in who had just been drafted like 55th or something. Nothing like reviosionist history.

you being so angry Chris Wallace is a better GM than your BF Daryl Morey
Meh, I didn't think he would be THE piece either. If you look a couple of pages in this thread, I didn't think the trade was horrible either, just a salary dump to have cap room later on.
But Tyson ended up being a fundamental piece. Props also for staying healthy, which was another big if coming in.
I knew TC was for real and could not believe OKC passed on him. Hopefully the team doc was fired.
When I stared the "Congrats" thread, I called out the front runners and none of them responded, nary a one. Yet now they have the championship pics in their avatars.
Must suck to be so s shocked, like a beaten chihuahua.
