PG Neal
SG Manu
SF Novak
PF Bonner
C Blair
imagine how spread out the floor would be.
Assuming that:
A: The Spurs make little-to-no roster moves and
B: There's actually a season.
The ideal line-up would be:
Parker
Ginobili
???/RJ
Duncan
Splitter
Spurs badly need help at SF. If they can pick up somebody quasi decent they should have a respectable team next year.
PG Neal
SG Manu
SF Novak
PF Bonner

If we're stuck with the same squad, I think general consensus is to let James Anderson take a shot at the starting SF spot. While the rookie showed moments of promise last season, he also didn't recover well from his injury and would have to make a pretty damn amazing showing in camp or early in the season to make that happen.
Personally, I'm so fed up with RJ at this point, I'd be willing to roll the dice on it.
What I would like:
Parker
Manu
Anderson
Duncan
Splitter
What we will probably end up getting:
Parker
Ginobili
Jefferson (huge contract, "corporate knowledge")
Duncan
Blair (Pop doesn't like playing playing Splitter with Duncan)
I was thinking JA too, but isn't he a little undersized for SF? (I thought he was 6-4, 6-5, tbh)...he did look decent at the beginning of the season though. RJ's contract won't let him leave, but he sucks something awful and shouldn't see the court. lol if Blair starts again.
There's an older thread with the exact same subject right ing below this one for chrissakes.
Yeah, I might start another one if the mood strikes me.
PG - Jacque Vaughn
SG - Stephen Jackson
SF - Matt Bonner
PF - DeJuan Blair
C - Rasho Nesterovic
He is a bit undersized, hes listed at 6'6".
Parker
Hill
Anderson
Duncan
Splitter
Like Dex said, it would probably be Parker-Manu-RJ-Duncan-Blair![]()
JA is a good 6'6 in shoes.. but he would be undersized nearly everynight.. and i think by now most Spurs fans are pretty sick of having undersized guys all over the court that get exposed continuously at the defensive end... such as Hill guarding 2's and Bonner and Blair guarding anybody. Although JA wouldnt be nearly as undersized as those guys.. he is around 220 and has a SF sized standing reach so it wouldnt hurt much... either way i would rather an undersized JA at the three than .
The Spurs are overloaded at SG as it is. Manu, Neal, Anderson, and even Hill is probably a natural SG. I wouldn't mind seeing Hill moved if it allows the Spurs to dump RJ's contract and bring in a good SF, and maybe a true backup PG at the same time.
I've been saying this for the past week or so now. This little chub is going to be too short to play SF and there isn't going to be minutes for him at SG behind Manu, Neal & Hill.
Danny Green IMO will have a much better shot at making the rotation as RJ's backup.
James Anderson 6'6'' 215lbs
Danny Green 6'6" 210lbs
James Anderson has already shown more potential (especially on defense) than Green who has a year of experience on Anderson.
The amount of time you've been saying it doesn't matter. It's still complete and total bull .
I'd rather have a physical midget than a mental midget at the three.
if manu starts, then our starting SF would have to be a defensive minded player who can hit the three
Yes, Green's 3/4" height advantage makes all the difference.
3/4 might not seem like alot
but IF both cna jump the same height have the same arm length
the guy with the 3/4 taller will get the ball

Can they?
Do they?
Green and Anderson are the same height.

If I had my druthers:
Parker
Manu
Duncan
Splitter
Anderson
Despite the potential that Anderson has shown defensively, along with his explosive scoring, my eyeball test says that Green has a slight edge over him on the defensive end.
As far as the SF position, here is my ideal world: Anderson, Danny Green, De'Sean Butler and newly-drafted Tyler Honeycutt. Obviously, one of this kids would be assigned to a D-League stint, for some serious development and seasoning. By now, RJ would be traded and out of the picture for good. The SF position is now instantly transformed from a severe weakness to a major strength of the roster. That's my perfect world.
