USA TODAY's final NBA mock draft

Duke guard Kyrie Irving has continued to hold down his position as the consensus No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft, but there are some changes to this week's mock draft.

Irving is still projected to go to the Cavaliers with the first pick, and the Timberwolves look to be taking Arizona's Derrick Williams with the second, though whether Minnesota keeps or trades the prized forward remains to be seen.

The changes begins with the Utah Jazz, drafting at No. 3. The latest projections have them switching from Kentucky guard Brandon Knight to Turkish center Enes Kanter with their pick.

With its second lottery pick, Cleveland would stick with Lithuanian center Jonas Valancuinas, leaving Knight to drop to the Toronto Raptors at No. 5.

The latest mock draft also sees three UCLA players on the board — guard Malcolm Lee, center Nikola Vucevic and forward Tyler Honeycutt — after last week's draft had only Lee going in the first round.

Kansas also has three players in this week's mock draft: forward Marcus Morris, projected to be taken 10th by the Bobcats; his brother, forward Markieff, projected to be taken by the 76ers at 16; and guard Josh Selby, who could go to the Nets at No. 27.

If they're going after Kanter, does that make Al Jefferson available?

so we have a "General 2011 NBA Draft Discussion" thread and an own thread for every single draft prospect.
but you feel we also needed this "Official 2011 NBA Draft Talk"?
    btw. link??
btw2: this mock draft is nothing than a copy from what more elaborated mocks deliver, with the difference that this author can't even get the colleges right.

Friend, the power of Google goes a long way.

Get real its the offseason and do you really think you ought to be criticizing others on rules and norms.?

Knicks may trade up for Jimmer Fredette
    By Chad Ford

    http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/blog?...26id%3d6680436

This is it. The week of the NBA Draft. With less than four days to go, there is still a lot of commotion going on. Teams are still conducting last minute workouts. Trade calls are heating up. Draft stock is still rising and falling. Here's the latest from around the league.

    Trade talk

One of the biggest challenges in projecting the draft is to trying to get a handle on who is exactly drafting where. Sources continue to insist that the Minnesota Timberwolves (2), Utah Jazz (3), Cleveland Cavaliers (4) and Washington Wizards (6) are all still open to moving the pick. Some of those trades could be with each other, but from what I can gather, none of the teams at the top of the lottery are sold with the players that are available to them.

"If someone really values the pick, and we can get something more proven, I think in this draft, you have to be open to a trade," one lottery GM said. "I don't like the risk-reward mix right now."

But the draft exodus may go even further into the first round. Sources say that the Charlotte Bobcats (9), Milwaukee Bucks (10) and Golden State Warriors (11) are also open to moving their pick. In this case the interest is all pretty specific. The Knicks, and a handful of other teams, are trying to get ahead of the Jazz. The target? BYU's Jimmer Fredette.

    Cavs committed to Kyrie Irving

The Cavaliers, after taking the temperature of the Timberwolves and Jazz to see if Kyrie Irving could somehow fall to No. 4 in Thursday's NBA draft, are now committed to the former Duke guard as the No. 1 pick and are fielding offers for the fourth pick, league sources said Monday.

My favorite player in this draft is Kemba Walker. I liked him enough to pick UConn to win the NCAAs in my bracket...just based on Kemba's play this year.

Even though he is a tad short by NBA standards, he is solid gold as a player and as a compe or.

It would not hurt my feelings at all to see the Spurs trade up for him.

not for cash, the spurs need young talent, and the knicks have no one that spurs want, that the knicks are willing to ive up...I'm pretty sure Spurs have already said no, to the knicks.

Milwaukee has a three-way deal with Charlotte and Sacramento, sources say.
Partial of deal: The Bucks get Stephen Jackson, Shaun Livingston, sources say. Charlotte gets the 7th pick and Corey Maggette.
Milwaukee's 10th overall pick goes to the Kings, source says.
Bucks send 10th pick and John Salmons to Kings.
The Bobcats will have the 7th and 9th picks in the draft tonight as part of the deal, source says.

There's sense Kings could be leveraging Spurs with leak of possible deal in place for 7th pick. Kings don't want Jefferson in Parker deal.
