lol RJ

The San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers nearly completed a blockbuster trade on Wednesday afternoon, but the deal fell apart in the late stages. San Antonio was prepared to ship Tony Parker and the #29 pick to Portland in exchange for Andre Miller, Nicolas Batum and the #21 pick, but the trade died when the Spurs insisted that Richard Jefferson somehow be included in the deal. Other players would have been included in the trade to make salaries work. Talks have quieted for now, but they could pick back up tomorrow if one of the teams has a change of heart.
-------------------------
Jefferson has roughly three years and $30 million remaining on his contract so matching that contract number isn't that easy. Including Blazers center Marcus Camby would make it work (ESPN Trade Machine link here) but that would leave Portland with an out of position LaMarcus Aldridge and the skinny winny Chris Johnson (plus Greg Oden) as the only remaining centers on the roster.

wow that was close! I like Parker.. but what would we do with RJ?
plus im not sure if I wanna give up on Batum right now
ing Richard Jefferson!
This asshole is probably gonna come back next year more lazy than he was this season.
It would be a no brainer for the Portland to get TP (not with RJ though, that would require thought, but you prob still do it).
TP for Batum + Cap Space (because Miller is fully non-guaranteed)+ Pick Swap is a laughable deal.
Please tell me this is Hoopsworld trolling Spurs fans or some . Buford deserves to catch AIDS if he's shopping Parker for that kind of garbage.
Throw in Gerald Wallace, and I might be tempted.. might be.
In this case, RJ his helping the Spurs. If his contract and play prevents them from gifting TP for , great.
WTF happened to him? He was damn good in NJ. At 30 he is just done..
If the Spurs are trying to make a move that bad then Duncan must have told them he's retiring. And why not move Ginobili too?
RJ's not done, he's just done on the Spurs and this system.
Throw in fernandez for rj and we got a deal
RJ is going to ruin any prospective trade... there's no way anybody is biting on taking him...
Just as well then. A Parker trade really doesn't make much sense otherwise.
Why did the Spurs give Jefferson a new contract anyway?
Because Pop believed in him.
Because players do better in their 2nd year of the Spurs system....![]()
Luxury tax.
Batum is ? Upstairs, not being able to draft the kid, was a travesty of "Scola-ian" porportions by some ...![]()
