I'd do that. It's 1000x better than what's being discussed. You aren't getting Cousins for TP though ESP if you are taking RJ

I think Cousins and Pop on the same sideline would make for an excellent sitcom.

That TP trade with the Kings looks horrible. If the Spurs do it, it'd be time to blow everything up.
    Including the ing front office?

What I could see happening with Kings:

Tony Parker and Richard Jefferson for Omri Casspi, Jason Thompson, Francisco Garcia and the 7th overall (which I think the Spurs would actually realistically target Klay Thompson).

This trade still isn't very good and would end any championship hopes ... but the FO would pull the trigger just to dump RJ's contract while still getting decent talent in return.

Cavs reportedly trying to get Parker now too. I'm guessing they're dangling #4 and some players, that'd free them up to take Williams #1.

I don't see anyone from that squad that would be worth it. Pass.
    Varejao perhaps?

We'd need a PG too though.

Yeah if the FO only semi blows this team up and ruins any chance of a quick rebuild, that'd be inexcusable.

I seriously don't get why they're after Thompson so hard. Neal has a long time ahead of him since his job is just to shoot, and there's potential with Anderson. Do they honestly think Blair and Splitter could be the frontcourt of the future? It has to be Valanciunas. It just has to.

Varejao is the best player they can include in a trade. And they have 3 PGs (see previous page for more info), but Baron Davis is their RJ and they probably want to move him before moving any of the other 2 PGs (Gibson and Sessions).

There's sense Kings could be leveraging Spurs with leak of possible deal in place for 7th pick. Kings don't want Jefferson in Parker deal.

Take Garcia out, and I would like that.I would love for the Spurs to try to trade the 7th pick to Bobcats for the 9th and 19th pick...Spurs can get Biyombo, and Harris with those pick, and Spurs could use Tony's TE for a point guard. That could go well, and Spurs can still use George Hill as an option for a trade with Utah. I doubt though Spurs would want 4 1st round draft picks.

Klay Thompson. This is a nightmare. Spurs can't be this foolish. I know RJ sucks, but it's Parker we are talking about.

If they want Kay Thmpson they don't need to give up TP for him.

While replacing RJ w Casspi/Garcia (if healthy) is an immediate upgrade, and Thompson is serviceable, wasting a pick on Thompson deflates everything and the gap between hill and TP is likely too large to overcome

As is the case with Parker for us (sorry to the CoM ). Seems apropos no? And I was thinking that Sessions would be the best fit at PG in that scenario.

Tell Kings to suck it then, while they stay horrible, if they don't want RJ, they certainly not going to get better with Felton as there point guard.

The way rumors have been swirling I wouldn't doubt San Antonio giving in at all.

I'd take Cousins over Thompson ... but the Kings are very doubtful to give up Cousins. He's a building block for them.

Well tbh if the Spurs managed to get back Varejao AND Sessions AND the 4th pick (and a good chunk of their trade exception) for TP+RJ I'd say they'd pretty much be raping the Cavs. I don't see it happening. Replace Sessions with Davis bloated contract and it wouldn't be so lopsided any more (but then the Spurs wouldn't pull the trigger).
