The Pacers will also send the 42nd pick in this draft to the Spurs as part of the package to get George Hill, source says.

Hill for Leonard? Hmmmm ... I have to digest this trade. Does it make the Spurs better next season? My first reaction is that it doesn't.
With Neal and Anderson to take up the slack I don't think they lose much. It a decent risk to take. At least they are trying to upgrade the team defensively.

That's not bad. I think I like it.
I love it...GH wasn't going to be able to run this offense properly anyway..

15th and 42nd for Hill while he stagnated and was one year away of getting a big contract: it sounds like a damn good trade for Spurs.

The Spurs needed a defensive SF - not one who scores and would be the 4th option behind TP, Manu and Splitter/Duncan. Personally, I think Singleton's defense was just about as good but came w/ a 3pt shooting threat but I'll take Leonard anyday.

The Spurs traded away Hill (a former late 1st round pick) for a pick in the teens...

This allows the Spurs to either sell #29 or to do a draft and stash.

I'd be shocked if they picked someone who we will see next year.

Kawhi Leonard and 42nd pick for George Hill. Fine with me.
The word brilliant comes to mind.

(But condolences to the local tatoo parlors. )

The perfect way to reinforce their love for late second round picks that they can stash in Europe for a couple of years. Something to keep the forums busy with.

I guess Spurs will take PG with the 29th. Reggie Jackson or Darius Morris?
I'm thinking they go international and take one in the second round. That or they address it in free agency.

Spurs will have a lot of young guys, Tiago, Blair, Anderson, Neal, Leonard

I hope they sign a veteran PG and draft a big at 29

Hill wasn't a point, we all know it. Neal's rise was Hill's demise.
    Spot on.

Hill was incredibly valuable when he was the only bench player worth a damn as Roger Mason Jr was vomiting all over the court and Finley begging to be released.

After Neal stepped in and stepped up, and after Anderson showed promise . . . Hill's ceiling with this team was reached AND his contract was coming up for a new deal within 2 years

If he's willing to play D (and it looks like he is), that's an improvement right there...
true....I think the spurs have plenty of offense....spurs can always find a goerge hill type player....to bad hill is not a spur anymore

Indeed. They aren't going to pay two first round picks.

IMO, the rest of the draft for Spurs:
    Mirotic or Bertans at #29
Shelvin Mack or Norris Cole at #42
