This allows the Spurs to either sell #29 or to do a draft and stash.

I'd be shocked if they picked someone who we will see next year.

Don't be surprised if they sell the 29 pick to Cleveland, in exchange for them taking RJ's contract. Cleveland can absorb it with a trade exception. He's good enough to make their team.

I think McDonald doesn't now about free agents...

    JMcDonald_SAEN Jeff McDonald
I guess Manu Ginobili just got upgraded to 48 minutes per night between both guard spots.

    JMcDonald_SAEN Jeff McDonald
Plenty of time to sort this out ... but who is the Spurs' new backup point guard?

Big props to RC for not panicking with a bull TP trade and squeezing maximum possible value for George Hill.

We would have had to face that regardless of the deal.

Hill for Leonard? Hmmmm ... I have to digest this trade. Does it make the Spurs better next season? My first reaction is that it doesn't.
You think there's any chance of getting his minutes slashed? That would be a plus.

    Spot on.

Hill was incredibly valuable when he was the only bench player worth a damn as Roger Mason Jr was vomiting all over the court and Finley begging to be released.

After Neal stepped in and stepped up, and after Anderson showed promise . . . Hill's ceiling with this team was reached AND his contract was coming up for a new deal within 2 years
    No question about that.

Neal came in and produced this past year. Hill at times seemed like he had regressed his overall game last year.

I'm ok with this trade, especially if Leonard can play defense like some have said he can. I think picking up Leonard shows that Pop might actually be serious about returning to Spurs Basketball as soon as possible.

Lorbek won the Euroleague 2004-05 Rising Star award and originally declared for the 2004 NBA Draft, but he ultimately withdrew his name from consideration. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2005 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers have since allowed him to further develop his game in Europe.

Like the trade. Don't like the pick. Would have preferred Singleton.

Spurs draft did just get a whole lot more interesting by picking up essentially two extra picks for Hill.
