He is going to work out for Spurs:

he had one of the fastest agility times ever measured, but a sprint time worse than Aaron Gray?
decent tools and it's always good to show some self confidence, but this kid seems to have much to much of that.
So are the Spurs taking him at 59? He said he won't go 60 or 1.
Maybe he's from Planet Lovetron?
Ouch... well, he didn't go 60 at least.![]()
From first round action and allstar definitely to undrafted? That has to be a bitter pill. He should have kept his mouth shut and might have gotten drafted.

Without a doubt. RT @AGleason76: Did Scotty Hopson's interviews kill his chances of being drafted? He seemed kinda delusional in the videos
What were his interviews like?
claiming that he will be a superstar in the league in 5 years and predicting that he will definitely be a high 1st round pick (and that he would be disappointed to be picked in the 2nd round. well, he wasn't, so no reason to cry)
stuff like that.
but IMO it's the combination of what he says and how he played in Tennessee. guy just has a me first at ude. so if teams don't think he has superstar talent (he hasn't) this will kill his stock. you don't want role players, who think they are the #1 on any team.
"I want be the best player the league has ever seen." "I hope to be a super star." LOL
It sure as didn't help any...
I like when he started talking about how he was going to start businesses and , like he was going to be the next Magic or something.
This guy would have probably been a mid to high second rounder if it wasn't for all those interviews. He was a player who finally started living up to a bit of his enormous hype this year, but his stock just went to once those started. His workouts must have been awful too. To think a couple of months ago he was considered someone who had an outside chance at the first round.
Wow![]()
Nice to see Scotty's agent is every bit as delusional
Rest of article here:Hopson had particularly good workouts with Miami, Sacramento, San Antonio, Boston and Detroit, though Hopson’s agent wouldn’t tip his hand as to which team will get his client’s services via the free agent route.
Scotty Hopson: 'I regret not being strong enough mentally' during past season -- Former UT star didn't attend NBA draft
Seems kinda fishy the Spurs are intersted in a Lightly and Hopson. Unless there trying to trade Neal or Anderson, along with RJ. I think it's good insurance if Butler doesn't work out, or they battle for that backup SF or 3rd string SF. I'm not a big Danny Green fan, and I doubt the Hopson would stay in the D league for a year. Seems like a great talent, but not all there.
I'm sure teams are cautiously waiting to see if he runs out to get a job with a big box electronics store for the employee discount.
Employee discount? He'd probably make more part-time at Best Buy and 7-11 than in the NBDL.
[It was an Artest reference (he actually did that), since Scotty seems crazy as a rat in a tin house in August.]
Yeah I know, but what good is an employee discount on a one day a week job if you don't have a real source of income?
Crazy, right?That's the test.
