It's not that he didn't want to pay him. More likely that they weren't going to be able to afford him, and instead of losing him for nothing, they went ahead and got something for him in return. Is that too hard to understand or comprehend?

I think all SPURS fan are saddened by the departure of GHill. The front office doesn't make many mistakes, but when they do (Scola, Jefferson), they are almost always ones that get fans all p****** off.
They got what they could for GHILL, probably knowing they can't resign him because of their mistake with Jefferson. Can't move , so someone had to go. Unfortunately for SPURS fans everywhere, we can only watch GHILL blossom for another team into an all star. The SPURS treat their players right. They probably could've sent him packing to any team for what they got in return, but instead they sent him to play for his home team.
