lol @ "Do you think the Spurs still have a le run left in them?" George replies "Well...I hope not...I hope the Pacers do now" haha such a good kid, nice to see him keep his sense of humor in what is obviously a tough time for him. Wish him nothing but the best

Good luck to George -- he will be missed! Happy that he's going home and to a team on the rise, great pieces the Pacers have.

You'll have to change your sig at some point TCF.

I'll miss George when he was playing with fire, and how the whole team responded when he was on the court. Sad for the spurs, but fortunate for the Indiana Pacers. It's saying alot for George Hill when a legend of the game (Bird) admits he's been wanting him for years. I think he'll have a more involved role in Indy's rotation, whether starting or coming off the bench and will help that team take the next step and I hope he is madly successful over there.

It's okay, because I'm pretty sure Kewnhi Loser is going to average 12PPG off of the bench as well.

One overlooked aspect of Hill's game the spurs will miss dearly will be his ability to get to the line, which not many players in the league can do consistently. Hill was a solid 3rd option for manufacturing points from the line, a feat not many teams can boast and probably a big reason the spurs amassed so many wins. He was also the spurs most consistent free throw shooter all year, shooting 86% (tops on the team by far) and 87% for the playoffs (26 for 30).

Classy guy and best of luck to him. I also would like to see him back with the Spurs sometime. The trade was still the right thing to do.

Classy guy who has the right perspective: if he had not been drafted by the Spurs (which was a big surprise back then), he probably wouldn't be in the NBA. Now he gets to go home and will probably get the $5-7 million a year the Spurs couldn't have paid him. He knows it was a business decision but at least he didn't get traded to a ty team to be cut and never play basketball again.

    False.

He was projected in most drafts to be a 2nd round selection. Lakers I believe would have taken him had he been available.

George will be missed. Conducted himself well on the court and in the community. I hope he has great success playing in his hometown.

Because unlike you I know that money doesn't grow on trees, there is such a thing as a salary cap, and there is also such a thing as a new CBA in the works. In other words, my takes are not based on some fantasy universe you seem to be living in.

Damn, that interview bummed me out. Gonna miss George. If only he had improved as much as we all had hoped he would in the 2010-11 season.

3 years went by fast. I'll always remember how the Spurs had a rookie fill in for Parker that showed mad scoring potential, always remember how he should have played more in the '09 series against the Mavs, and definitely always remember how he shut down nba champion Jason Terry and made fools of the Mavs in '10.

    Wish him the best.

With the emergence of Gary Neal and the expected potential of James Anderson, there was a logjam at the SG position. This made George expendable.

I truly emphathize with Hill because he had endeared himself both to the organization and within the community, but this is a move that simply had to be done.

He is truly a class act. I wish him much success with the Pacers.

Class act! He will be missed! Good luck Indiana George! Would love to see you back as a Spur! Sad interview!

Damn, I hope the Spurs know what they're doing! These guys better be good and I hope they will get playing time otherwise this is just a waste of trading away a good player!

This young man made great strides here as a player and citizen, but he is leaving as he came--modest, confident in his ability, and grateful for the opportunities he has been given.

God Speed, George. Have a great career in Indiana and take the Pacers to a finals against the Sours some day.

If we don't see you again in a Spurs uniform, think of us as a nice warm weather city for retirement among old friends.

Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Richard Jefferson, Tiago Splitter, and Matt Bonner are the only players on non-rookie scales that will be under contract after next season (when Hill becomes a restricted FA)...thatd be somewhere in the 40-50 mill range including rookie contracts. Yall s make it seem like the Spurs would be up to their toes in contracts and had absolutely no shot at re-signing Hill. The Spurs very well couldve re-signed him.

Whats the the new CBA look like btw?Im curious as to what you know about it that nobody else does, that makes you confident enough to guarantee the Spurs wouldnt have retained Hill.

yo is anyone else going to miss bill land shouting IUPUIIIIII
Im gonna miss hearing Ooo-y Poo-y
