typical female....but Dirk doesn't seem to have high standards...no disrespect to you at all...
Amen to this my brother....you deserve a ing metal....and I meant metal...
Tim motha in' Duncan managed to bring 4 les to our ty small town that no one outside of South Texas gives a about
typical female....but Dirk doesn't seem to have high standards...no disrespect to you at all...
I thought you were better than that man. I really did. If you were starting a team no way you'd take Kobe over Tim who can anchor both ends of the court at an elite level.
if by work ethic u mean ing for a trade to another team until the leage allows one of the most rediculous trades to happen...then sure kobe's got the work ethic down. if however, u mean work ethic as in not ing about the team nor demanding a trade and sticking by your city even though u know you could make more money somewhere else then i'd give that kind of work ethic to duncan....
Haha, you know I was joking, right? I adore Dirk because he is a hometown hero, he's been successful, he brought a championship to my city, because he stuck with the team that groomed him, and because he is, by all accounts, a really good guy. That's all I meant.![]()
Adrienne my dear unless you work the games at a concession stand or have won / lost thousands of $$$ on the Mavs.... that Championship does nothing for you...you don't start to reap the benefits until after the 2nd le because after the second or back to back is when the le becomes legitimized...right now most basketball purists see it as nothing but straight up luck...not that you beat Miami but more so that you beat LA....![]()
I am failing to see what that has to do with what we were talking about. And yeah, lucky the Lakers lost miserably. Aaaand now I'm done with this conversation!
No need to get emotional over it woman....
You are surprised a guy who uses the name KillerKobe picked Kobe first?
He picked based on all the evidence I presented...you guys picked over emo'ing too much...
4-0
122-86 being "luck"

He doesn't need your "evidences". If someone here needs you to compile data to see who's the better player, it's probably your troll account anyhow.
Kobe also shot 38% in two finals appearances! Thats flat out horrible. I believe one was the Pistons and the other the Celts.
Isn´t that a good percentage knowing we are talking about Kobe?
Percentages are irrelevant when discussing Kobe Bryant
You bring the "terribles"
Tim is great I have said many times I would take him over shaq. But when you have a player like Kobe who wins, sells tickets, and is considered one of the greatest players post Mj ... yes I take Kobe. Yes, it would be a close call especially because Duncan is a defacto center ...but I take Kobe.
Kobe has played more years at a high level. Even losing a step Kobe has been easily the better player over the past 4 years running. Yes, duncan had better career overall, up to 2007 ...but that was still a close debate.
Now Kobe's career is better.
Many Spur fans on here act as though the League stopped in 2007. From Tim's rookie year and the first few years of Kobe's career Tim was much better. Then it was a close call from 2002 - 2007 But I would definitely say Duncan had the better career. But now it's Kobe. Dont worry there are some that still hold true to stance that Duncan is greater ...but outside of this forum that won't last. Kobe is still a top 10 player Duncan is now a fringe all-star based on past deeds just like Kobe's all defense team honors.
This no knock on Duncan. The man was great. And despite Kobe being superior the past 4 seasons it is STILL close ...but yes I would take Kobe.
That is like saying Would i not take MJ over Hakeem... after seeing both players play? Dont get me wrong, Kobe is no MJ (and Duncan is no Hakeem either) but when you factor winning, rings, ticket sales, jersey sales overall talent on both ends ...Kobe is the better choice.
Many say Kobe is big man dependant maybe so, but he has won with two different all-star big men. he won les in his early 20's (just like Duncan) but is just a year removed from winning his 5th. Duncan wins another le I will revisit this debate ...but for now this case is closed.
I take Magic over Kareem as well ...though that is MUCH tougher ...for the same reasons.
Knowing what we know... that the Sun revolves around the Earth and that the Earth flooded 40 cubits above it's tallest peak.... which basketball player would you choose?
That and Kobe fanbois.
1: Duncan
2 (Tie): Dirk/Kobe
Not all that close between 1 & 2.
BTW, Kobe was born on third base in the NBA, tbh. How many les would he have won in Charlotte?
lol scorers are a dime a dozen. kevin martin, jamal crawford, oj mayo, monta ellis, eric bledsoe, joe johnson, ben gordon, danny granger....... Duncan truly is a rare breed. if you pick kobe you are just a homer and a moron. gurantee kobe would have 0 les if he stayed in charlotte and duncan would still have 4. even dirk would have more les.
1. Shaq
2. Dirk
3. Duncan
4. Kobe
5. Ginobili
6 Parker
7. Terry
The goal is to win a Championship. So if that is the goal then I don't see how you couldn't pick Duncan. A team built around Duncan will get you a lot closer than a team built around Kobe. Ticket sales are irrelevant. If Tim played in New York or LA or somewhere like that he'd be thought of even more highly. Winning rings is the key, not ticket sales, jersey sales and all that. Allen Iverson sold a load of jerseys but he didn't win anything. I really never factor that in because if you win it all you'll normally get that anyway.
If you swapped out Tim and put Kobe on the Spurs from 1997 - 2007 they probably have zero rings. If you put Tim on the Lakers in that time they'd still win at least 1 ring.
Tim also doesn't need another all-star to win and he proved that in 2003. Kobe has proved so far that he needs an All-Star big man to win it all. I really don't see how you could start a team with Kobe.
