What bandwagon are you talking about? Mexico isn't exactly a powerhouse.
My opinion in that if you grew up in San Antonio and LA and are of Mexican heritage, then you have the right to root for Mexico. But if your family is like mine, and has been in Texas since it was part of Mexico or you're a 7th generation American (in other words, you've been Americans a long time) then you should also root for the US. (Same is true of the other half of my heritage... my German family has been in the US even longer).
If you are 1st generation American, then I give you leniency for Mexico being your number 1 team. After that, then I think you are the same as a Laker fan born and raised in San Antonio.

lol oohhhh man, interesting convo, sort of.
I have some friends that have actually discussed some similar things with me, and I gotta say it seems people simply can't always understand the other point of view. Some of my more random/distant friends have been surprised to hear me talk about supporting Argentina during whatever given compe ion is going on, especially when facing the US. I was born in Argentina, only my nuclear family lives in the US, and I've grown up practically all my life in the US, but I always will support the Argentine national team because that's just the way it's been. A lot of Americans that I've talked to seem to create their own political implications, when there really are none; they may just read way more into it for their own good.
I enjoy living in the US and support many things about the country, but I identify more with Argentinian culture overall and that has been true all of my life and when it comes to sports, I will always support Argentina before the US.

Every race in America has a hazing period. The hazing period for Mexicans woulda been over for years if Mexicans learned English, didn't have a blatant disregard for the law, and didn't waive flags around like you still live in Mexico.

There's a transition period you re ed Jew. You cant expect Mexicans to immigrate and immediately lose their Mexican iden y, embrace America, and consider themselves Americans overnight. Or even their children or grandchildren for that matter. Especially with racist s like you who are sadly still prevalent in this country.

You do see Mexicans losing their Mexican iden y and considering themselves Americans 3-4 generations down the line though. And thats how its been with most immigrants, not just Mexicans.
Jews were fluent in English and fully integrated into American culture by the 2nd generation. Why the do Mexicans take so long? If you go from Mexico to America, doesn't that mean you want to be American?

So are the children of Mexican immigrants idiot, its not like these kids go to school and refuse to learn English. Most of them are fluent, its the older Mexican immigrants that struggle to learn the language. Just like any other older person struggles to learn a new language.
