The article I linked has her referring to her colleague right after awesome. Not the idea. I see no other way to read it except she is saying it's awesome the guy has the same basic idea.
I hate that about broken quotes. Journalists do it frequently. It should always be seen as a red flag, and not trust how they lay out the story.
Always verify when the quotes are broken. Don't trust the path the journalist is leading you on.

I've said this before. I think there should only be one tax rate. Remove most or all deduction. Remove all tax credits.
