Moot point because fairweather fans only watch the NBA for the dramatic dunks. And 70%+ of NBA fans are fairweather. Alienating a huge % of the fanbase would be stupid.
The NBA will never ban dunks again.
Who would be your top 5 players in the game? Here are mine:
1. Kobe
2. KD
3. Melo
4. CP3
5. Dirk
I would have put prime TD in the mix, but he's not what he used to be. Discuss.

LeBron and Wade would just take it to the rim to lay it in.
/thread world record.
Really?
Javale McGee would average 0.05 points per game
easy. KD would dominate not kobe.
Good point. Now let's see how elite either will be once their athleticism starts failing them. For example, despite how dominant Shaq was, I would have still taken Duncan over him. Why? Because I'd rather have 23/12/2+ for 12 years or more and have my best big willing to "guard the yard" even when match ups don't dictate the offensive touches you are used to getting. Look no further than TD as a major reason why the Spurs reeled off an NBA record for 50 wins or more. Was he as physically talented as Shaq? No, but if you compare their career winning %s, I bet TD comes out on top.
The players I listed all have better jumpers than Wade and LBJ. You can game plan to stop a player that likes to go to the hole alot - as we saw in the Finals with LBJ. The champs were able to shut him down in the 4th quarters because he is mostly one dimensional. Meanwhile Dirk was the same Dirk in the 4th as he was in the 1st 3 qtrs. Why? Because he's not as one dimensional as LBJ.
An effective strong side zone can neutralize a player like LBJ. Boston did it for a few years in a row and it would have happened this year if they were healthy. Dallas did though and it was funny as . A healthy Kobe destroys the Mavs. Absolutely obliterates them. But a healthy LBJ couldn't dunk or lay the ball in in the 4th quarter and now he is 0-2 in the Finals.
I concede your point to a degree, but if it were 100% spot on, the Heat would have won it all and not the Mavs. They definitely had the athleticism and talent to do it. However, when Dallas took them out of what they like to do (take it to the hole and dunk/lay it in), their effectiveness took a serious hit and Dallas ended up ranging. Fast forward a few years and I'm willing to bet father time will do the same to LBJ unless he develops a go to move that doesn't include putting your head down and barreling into the lane for a ref-induced and-1.
At least your post isn't racist this time. Props.![]()
Don't be a got. Answer the thread with some sort of intelligence or GTFO. Thanks.![]()
That statement is true against scrub teams but not against balanced contending teams like the 2011 champs. Dallas' zone took away their ability to go to the rack during the 4th qtrs and ended up popping bottles in their gym. Other playoff caliber teams will employ the same tactics against the Heat. This is a copycat league. So LBJ better be working on his game instead of dunking on 12 year olds if he knows what is good for him.![]()
You shouldn't get upset everytime you make a ty thread.
Lkrfan is a founding father of the group that thinking posting smilies in their posts is some sort of one upsmanship.
Instead of banning things, they should expand the game. For instance, adding a 4 point line so Antoine Walker could get back in the league.
at me being upset. It's the offseason, and there really isn't anything to talk about other than the fact that the players are locked out. Now run along and enjoy the Mavs one and done le.
