People just do that because the OJ case was the biggest trial of the past 25 or more years. Its re ed yes, but no worse than when people feel the need to put "Gate" on the end of every scandal since WaterGate. The worst ever was when Michael Irvin once threatened a bunch of reporters who were bothering him in the Cowboys locker room with a pair of scissors and ESPN called it "ScissorsGate."
