Nice, although i would like to try bush's chicken
http://www.bushschicken.com/
Imo their chicken tenders were the tops. Compared to bill millers, churches and such.
Here on the east side it's just Wed.
Bush's chicken is pretty dam good, 2nd on my list behind popeyes y. Plus their sweet tea is liquid crack.
i never go cause they have a weird drive thru system, dont they have people waiting outside for you to pull up or something? I cant sit there and stare at the menu and have some kid staring back at me....even though i know they serve chicken. one day i will need to try it
their rolls look great on the website
Two piece for 99 cents on Tuesdays.
Yay! I'd cook you some fried chicken but I don't know how![]()
you don't cook it. It comes in a box.
But seriously, if you don't have a deep frier, I think it's hard. I remember my grandmother used to make it in a pan on the stove. Not to mention cutting it up and coating it in flour and whatever else there is to it.
move this day to February
Popeye's!
Easy...best fried chicken around...
A large cast iron or good quality dutch oven on the stove is best.
put enough "crisco" in the pan to cover the chicken about 3/4 of the way.
heat oil to 325
in a bowl, scramble some eggs and add picante sauce to it until it is bright pink.
have another bowl with SELF RISING flour, black pepper, and Tony Cacheres cajun seasoning.
Quarter one medium size yellow onion and put it in the hot oil. Leave it in there the entire time you are cooking even if it turns black.
Dip the salted/peppered chicken in the egg, dip in the batter, and put in the dutch oven/frying pan. Put as many pieces as you can without touching/covering each other. Cook till golden brown, flip, finish, and put on rack to drain and keep adding pieces as you take them out.
When you finish, take the onions out, drain most of the oil leaving all the crumbles and make cream gravy and serve the chicken with white rice and gravy.
Serious good eating. Not "hot" but just bursting with good flavors.
They are warm rolls. Pretty good. Some ppl go there just to order rolls and tea. Not sure if that insults the chicken or compliments the tea and rolls.
