If Australia has a national health care system, no thanks. Most people who've served in the military would tell you the same, and you would as well if you've ever been on the "list" to see a doctor, and your appt is 6 months or more away.

Interestingly enough, people from those countries get flown here for high end medical procedures. That's because private medicine, like business, will always trump lowest bidder medicine.

Someone who's 100 lbs. overweight and has been a chain smoker for 50 years needs triple bypass surgery and needs treatment for lung cancer? Tax dollars shouldn't cover a cent of that.

A big reason why Australia can have national healthcare and we can't is because in Australia there isn't a crazy bad obesity epidemic, in fact if I'm not mistaken Australia is one of the most fit countries in the world.
