This event will be held next week and the news was just like last Thursday? It's really unexpected. Just bought a ticket yesterday for P800.00, around $18 I think? Seat is Upper Box B, 2nd to the farthest.Budget constraint and it's the only seat available.
http://sports.inquirer.net/7450/kobe...ilas-pilipinasMANILA, Philippines – Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar Kobe Bryant and New Orleans Hornets’ star playmaker Chris Paul will lead a group of NBA players who will parade their wares in Manila for a series of exhibition games on July 23 and 24 at the Araneta Coliseum.
This was announced by Talk N’ Text head coach Chot Reyes, one of the people behind the negotiations of the hoops event, on his Twitter account Friday morning.
Also on Reyes’ Twitter post, Sacramento Kings’ Tyreke Evans, LA Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan, Oklahoma City Thunder’s James Harden, Minnesota Timberwolves’ Derrick Williams and two others will also be joining in what has been dubbed as the Smart Ultimate All-Star Weekend.
The NBA All-Stars will take on Smart Gilas Pilipinas, the national basketball team, and a PBA-select squad.
According to Ticketnet, ticket sales for the event, organized by the MVP Sports Foundation, are still on hold although the prices are available.
Patron seats are pegged at P5500, Lower Box at P3800, Upper A at P1500, Upper B at P800 and General Admission at P350.
“Buy your tickets now for a chance to watch KB and CP3 Live,” also tweeted Reyes.
Speculations had reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose and Fiba World Championship MVP Kevin Durant participating in the exhibition games.

Aguilar is p*ssy.Sorry but he is overrated for me and I don't watch PBA here. And Kobe wears our school jersey.

Rose and Durant confirmed. Durant to replace DeAndre Jordan.
Manila's going to rock. People from Asia are going to flock their stadium.
Observations:
1. Kobe was going like 1/3 speed
2. Kobe was playing center?
3. Kobe dished out more passes in that 7+ minutes than he did in the entire series vs. the Mavs.
4. Those midget PGs can't be more than 5'6"
that's pretty much the max speed the bag of can play these days
That's already expected. For me, seeing there Live! is already enough, that's the point of going there to watch, to feel some presence of the NBA Players. And I think, most people that are going to watch is to cheer and support NBA Players. Well, I don't even support PBA, but I support College Basketball (UAAP), here 'coz mainly most of the players in the PBA are like half-Filipino blood and can't even speak Tagalog.![]()
This is what the upcoming police report on a local Manila hotel will read:
Kome: "I don't speak Manilan, so I didn't know what she was saying"
Cop: "You don't know what NO means?"

knowing Manila police they will ask him for autographs, take some pictures with him and thank him for visiting their country.
Hilarious video, my thoughts:
1. sure he was going half-speed ...but Kobes lost explosion from 3 years ago is pretty obvious. Good thing for him he still is athletic despite losing a step and his skill level is so high, he remins effective. But watch highlights from just 3.5 season's ago when he was till abeast there is no comparing.
2. "Flips" love ball. I have dated a few (in cali) and played with plenty most love basketball and are pretty good though undersized. My JV HS PG was one and he was better skill-wise than our Varisty PG, the filipino one was more clutch and more fun to play with but he was just not big enough or quick enough for varsity ...
3. i know many hate Kobe's shot dominant game ...but to me he passes fine. My major issue with Kobe's game is the "hero kill shot" that he Lebron wade and even Manu (at times) fall victim to far too often. If kobe eliminated that shot and the one over 2-3 defenders, his FG% and the flow of the Lakers offense would benefit.
Despite what many twits on here say kobe is still the most consistent and reliable offensive weapon thhe Lakers have, he should still get the most shots. He just needs to make sure more often they are "good looks".
I also think if the Lakers had better shooters like back in teh 3 peat area kobe would be more willing to dish, but our shooters suck right now.
Wow, so Kobe's going to be in Manila TWICE in 10 days![]()

NBA stars amazed by warm welcome in Manila
MANILA, Philippines – Eight of the nine NBA stars who will throw their basketball-passionate Filipino fans a big treat in the Smart Ultimate All-Star weekend arrived in Manila Friday morning.
And New Orleans Hornets’ Chris Paul, Washington Wizards’ Javale McGee and Sacramento Kings’ Tyreke Evans all expressed their amazement at the warmest welcome they received – and that was just at the airport.
“What a welcome from the fans here in Manila,” said the star playmaker Paul, who planed in with brother C.J., on his Twitter account.
“Shoutout to all my fans in Manila. They all showed me love at the airport,” said the former Rookie of the year Evans.
“So much love on Manila,” said McGee, the runner-up of last season’s slam dunk contest.
And the lanky, high-flying center could not wait to bring, not just his dunking prowess, but his planking act here in Manila – with the jeepney as his first prospect.
“Pierre gon’ plank on one of these,” said McGee, posting a photo of a jeep with the route ‘Guadalupe.’” Planking is a wide spread craze involving lying face down in an unusual location.
Minnesota Timberwolves’ draft pick Derrick Williams, who has not even played a single NBA game yet due to the lockout, was also given a “crazy welcoming” by the fans.
And what was the first thing that the second over-all pick of this year’s draft noticed?
“I saw a 24-hour Shakeys on the way here!” said Williams. “Hopefully they deliver! Best pizza ever.”
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City Thunder’s bearded guard James Harden is already thinking about shopping two hours into his stay.
“Wanting to do some shopping in the Philippines. Any ideas?” Harden said.
Thunder’s Kevin Durant and James Harden, Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose and Los Angeles Lakers’ Derek Fisher have also arrived for the series of exhibition games to be played at the Araneta Coliseum on July 23 and 24.
Kobe Bryant, who just wrapped up his five-city Asia tour for Nike, will arrive Saturday in Manila straight from Shanghai, China.
The star-studded USA selection will go up against the PBA All-stars on Saturday at 7 p.m., even as they face the Philippine national basketball team on Sunday at 1 p.m.
“I can’t wait to get out on the court tomorrow [Saturday]!” exclaimed Paul.
sons just WHERE is the KING in these videos as mentioned in the le??
What videos are you talking about?
Just got home, the show was good and it's simply amazing. The score was 131 - 105, Smart All-Stars (NBA Stars). They didn't use NBA, I dunno if it's something about the lockout. Highest pointer is James Harden with 33 Points and the lowest is Derek Fisher, scored nothing. I'm not a Kobe fan but I respect him a lot now for visiting our country and bringing other NBA Stars for an exhibition game. Crowd loves D. Rose as well, we're yelling "MVP!".
So Rose was 7-22 i assume, the "MVP"...?
I don't know, don't make a big deal of it. We're yelling MVP it's because, he's the NBA 2010-2011 Season MVP and that's a fact. D. Rose has 9 Points I think by the way.
Bottom line is, we're happy because they played here for the first time.
