I need help with this ASAP

I went down to the post office to pick up one of those flat rate boxes, because I need to ship some items. I have never sent anything through the post office before, since I only use e-mail.

Now, my questions are these.

Once the items are inside the box, do I cover all of the box with clear tape? if not what areas should I tape up?

Second, where do I write the address and return address?

Third, once everything is ready do I just go to the post office and buy a stamp and give it to the guy behind the counter? or do I not need one?
