tbh 9 out of 10 hot undergrad girls were majoring in psychology when I was in college. I would bet that has to be the #1 major of women overall as well.
Makes sense, if you're a hot girl you don't really need a useful degree.

Obviously this is something that has to do with each individual's personality. To give a very broad answer, if the woman has ever talked down to the man or has shown eagerness to control things then the answer is clear. Time to find another woman.

Tbh most relationships are destined to fail anyway. Especially the ones that don't have any bread being won at all.

But like all non-traditional stuff, be prepared to face hate. I don't think the insecurity issue would be the driving factor in breaking up the OP's scenario and there's gotta be some success stories in there somewhere. Some guys are just too lazy for the professional world especially the younger ones. Some women don't want to handle domestic duties especially the breadwinners. Yada, yada.

So you are saying that husbands that are the breadwinners are cheating left and right?

    No.

Well, if the man is capable of getting a job but chose to be a bum then yes, the wife will have no problem ing other men.

But, if the man losses his job because of health problems, layoff or an agreement between spouses that the woman can earn more at her job and the man will just take care of the children to save on childcare then I think the respect will still be there.

tbh this is a bland point but its right on the money. The old days of people regularly marrying at an early age and staying married for the rest of their life are long over. Old farts that are married at this point for like 50+ years etc. went through a lot of rough patches that people nowadays would just get divorced over.

anything i want scrah, honestly i'd go for a phd but they dont have the program available at tech that i would want. If i wanted to wait that is an option, but i might as well take what is available right now then later on down the road I could get my phd. Thanks for your genuine concern scro

Both from personal experience as well as witnessing other such relationships, it certainly seems to be the case. I think it stems from insecurity, but women also don't hide the fact when they make more money. It just sets up a contentious atmosphere, be it immediately, or several years down the road.

Anybody in such a relationship now? If so your input would be appreciated.
I married up 14 years ago, it's not a problem. Money just isn't an issue when you have plenty of it.

Probably more of an issue for the broke ass dudes posting on this thread who can only feel like a man by having a woman who is more broke than them.

My parents will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary later this year. The wife and I will celebrate 17 yrs together as well. IMO, if a couple is fighting and breaking up over money they have deeper problems.

Any relationship is doomed to fail if either partner has a significant insecurity about any aspect of the relationship.

psychology degree sucks if you dont want to be in psychology or some kind of social services. But no degree is really 'worthless'
True, some are less than worthless. Some cost you a load of money that you can never repay.

If my wife made more than me, that would be great as long as it was her increase, not my decrease.

Now if I didn't have a job at all, that would suck. I've only been without a job once since HS and only for 3 months then. It's uncomfortable and you learn quickly that no one can hang out 1pm on Tuesday.

Girls majoring in stuff like psychology and sociology are in school to find a husband who can takeover daddy's financial responsibilities down the road.

I haven't worked much for over a year, just some short contract jobs, so we could do some traveling. Been doing some diy home remodeling in between vacations. It's not too bad if you keep busy but you're right that it sucks that everyone else can't do anything. The worst thing though is losing the "I'm too busy with work" excuse to get out of doing things you don't want to do.

ok if you wanna play semantics, the vast majority of girls doing that are really in school to find a husband.

You pointed out one female example, then for some reason told me about a man who makes money in psychology as if it's relevant to what I said.

Sociology is way worse than psychology tho, one of the most useless majors I've ever seen.

My girlfriend in college was a sociology major. She wasn't going to school to look for a husband. She just wanted a degree and was smart enough to know she couldn't pass anything that required much math or chemistry.

Sociology is basically for social workers and the like. Nothing wrong with that, especially if you get paid enough not to worry about money.

As for me, if I was with a girl that made more money than me, I wouldn't care. I wouldn't mind a sugar momma. But, I would work too in some form or fashion. If she wanted me at home doing things around the house, I wouldn't have a problem with that. , I'd learn a lot of handy man stuff so I could make home improvements with the time I had. I'm up for learning anything except tile work. I just wouldn't with that.

But I would make sure it is understood that I'm at home not because I'm lazy, but because it was an agreed upon situation by both parties. The moment she were to start saying I was lazy, I'd make it very clear that I worked my ass off before I met her, and if she got tired of me being home, I'd be more than happy to get another job and start working again.

, if I won the lottery, I'd take a few years off to do things, but I'd eventually go back to work because that's just the way I am.

I know you meant that as a joke, but it is something. Some people don't ever realize their limitations and just keep banging their heads against the wall. At least his girl knew her limitations and worked around them.

First thing I did after buying my house was to tile the laundry room. No experience. Its really not hard. I just found some instructions on the internet.
Redoing my cabinets on the other hand ......

Working around them means saving the money, not spending it anyhow and getting a degree.

"Oh I know my limitations, so I didn't buy 500 crates of floor tile because I cannot install them. I bought 500 crates of plastic spoons"

I agree that it is a simple task, but sanding them is a pain in the ass.
