It's my understanding that because of the lockout they can't use current players. Just like how the NBA.com website has a bunch of retired players and not current players on it.

Really, the Jordan one is the only one that makes great sense with that design, because the move he's making is going forward with a lot of motion, whereas Magic is just shooting a hook (certainly a famous one) and Bird is the worst, just shooting a jump shot.

I like that they were going for a theme they'd all have, but it just doesn't work as well on Magic and Bird.
