It is in my opinion that fighting and the practice of martial arts are two completely different things. The only thing that people can really bring back home with them from studying martial arts is the principles of human anatomy; i.e: This elbow joint isn't meant to bend this way. If it is bent like this, it will hurt.
As for the actual practice of these learned techniques, it is often more difficult than one initially understands it to be while engaged in a fight. I do not understand why a majority of martial artists believe they will win a fight just because they have a black belt or something similar.
Here is an example of what I mean: (this is from a movie I recently watched.)

So fellow clubbers, what is your view of this subject?
How can you watch movies like that without triggering your PTSD, xellos?
There's an interesting story behind that scene. Anyone know the link?
Shouldn't you know these things without having to ask?
Let me get this right the OP is saying a dancer can beat a trained martial artist who takes kicks, punches, elbows, knees to various parts of the body on a daily basis and trains himself to push his body past a breaking a point of a normal human being incase said person is caught in a submission that would make a normal person tap? Makes sense.
this thread reminded me of this -- please watch took me like 10 mins to find it
Congratulations brah...you just beat up an 80 year old man...
Do you not understand the context of the video?
I'm asking for the less educated, such as yourself, I'm sure you're curious ya in tool![]()
harrison ford was sick didn't want to fight, said to spielberg "can't i just shoot him." Spielberg said "lol great idea"
the end
i like mma & i love boxing but i hate san antonio mma because no one trains the way they should. at that gym i was going to we'd have some mma people come in to train and they couldn't even hang with the 11 yr old's on situps and pushups, it was pretty pathetic. granted that gym is boss in sa as far as the limits they push you to become a fighter.
wonder if a martial artist could knock the highlights off your goty head
Students: "Master, use the force!"
Kiai Master: "I'm trying dammit! ain't working!"
bet all the dudes love your "ground game"
ok, maybe i should reword that to... i like muay thai and jujitsu, not necessarily everything about mma.
btw, i've never ever trained in any martial arts so i have no ground game. don't quit your day job homie, comedy definitely isn't your forte.
Sure you were.
If someone grabbed your dirty long hippy hair and pulled hard, what technique would you use to get away?
punch them in their in' gut and then when they flinch go up top and give them a couple jabs, then hopefully catch them off guard and hit them with a cross.
btw, they'd have to be real fast considering i keep my hair tied in a bun about 95% of the time.
Awww... did I hurt your widdle feewings? Poor baby. Cry some more ! I love it!!!
