I'm ruining my good mood (the Beltran signing), but they're wasting a ton of good talent in SF, and have been for years. Vernon Davis, Joe Staley, Crab, PW, Gore, Nate Clements, Sopoaga, and on and on. Tons of talent, horrible coaching and front office. No reason this team shouldn't be smacking around the NFC west.
The Smith Deal is one year for 5 million!!! 5 ing million for a piece of garbage who could only manage one .500 season and has been injury prone.

Could be yet another good college coach in Harbaugh flaming out in a big hurry, a la' Dennis Erickson.
Dennis Erickson is maybe the most overrated college coach of all time. He won 2 national championships with Jimmy Johnson's recruits, had a great 1st season at ASU with Dirk Koetter's recruits, and hasn't done otherwise. He can't do jack unless he's taking over a really talented roster that just needs a new coach to respond to.

Look at the QBs on the 49ers and Seahawks' rosters. Hard to believe those are the best options an NFL team could find.
There does seem to be a lack of good QB's to go around.
There also seems to be a collective re ation among NFC front offices.

Put Kaepernick at QB with Gore and Masoli in the backfield all at the same time. You could run some wicked flea flickers/HB passes/reverses (Crab and Ginn split wide with VDavis at TE)
At least that (losses) would be fun to watch.
