Good for you.
I feel that our ceiling is the 2nd round, after many glorious years of contention.
This is my fear.
It is what it is ... being contenders for a decade perhaps made some Spurs fans greedy. We (yes, its hard for me too) have to understand how fortunate (not lucky) and blessed we were to witness the team win four championships.
But, contenders or not, I just want to see my Spurs play. this lockout ...
trapped like a MOUSE, yall fell for the bait. lame!
Nah,we can still win it all.
Do you really thinks the Mavs or Heat could beat the Spurs in a 7 game series if we didn't have Manu and Timmy injured ?!?
I know I don't.Memphis absolutely peaked against an injured Spurs team and even the games we lost were VERY close except for one.I won't mention the absolute crap officiating that allowed the Grizz to butcher our shooters constantly
Grizz lost to the Thunder ?!? A team a healthy Spurs woulda dispatched in probably 5 games if not given them 'da broom!
Keep the faith y'all !!!
you trippin.
eh.... I don't think he's tripping too much. If the Spurs could have played like they did in the middle of the season... like in the first game against the Lakers or the first game against the Heat... the Mavs weren't anything special against us either...
He's trippin, but not by much.
The Spurs will never win a 'Ship with and Ginger boy getting legit playing time.
5 star thread, will read again, and recommend to family and friends
every year the spurs don't ring it was "
just the injuries."
He was saying pretty much the exact same thing Mavfans were saying after our recent 1st round exits. There's no such thing as "just the wrong matchup" when you want to win a championship, especially not when you loose in the 1st round.
Also i think the Spurs were healthy enough to overcome the #8 seeded Grizzlies, it's just that they were so heavily overmatched in the frontcourt that it didnt matter.
aren't you in those commercials
Yeah how far would have Cubans bozos gotten if Dirk and Tyson were injured
You guys dodged a bullet not facing us in the PO's
And you know it deep down![]()
No wrong match-ups son, just injuries to 2 of our Big 3
Manu in an f'n full arm brace and Timmy D hobblin' on a bum ankle
And sum Stern approved officiating butchery so the Spurs wouldn't butcher the Finals ratings again
The Grizz were flat out maulin' people
Anyone else see Durant just about lose his mind at all the friggin hacking during that series.I could feel for the guy it was ugly![]()
My belief is, the Mavericks with Caron Butler were the best team in the league. The Spurs were next. The Mavericks won't be as good next year, I'm sorry. That's just reality about what I think of their probable complacency in FA, after you've indulged, and you're not a true-veteran team.
No offense, Mavs. I'm just saying if I were you, I wouldn't be thinking about being able to repeat with the new worth of your players (despite what you pay for them) and instead would eat summer hot dogs and look for a big-bottomed girl.
The Spurs will always have a chance as long as Duncan is there.
I think with some REAL frontline help we'd see a revitalized Timmy. Now, whether that frontline help ever comes (or is allowed to play) is a different story.
Splitter isn't enough. The only player that's probably actually available, at the right price, that has the potential to bring the Spurs a championship is Greg Oden. IIRC he's making over 8 million a season with his new contract, which I highly doubt the Spurs would gamble on.
I would love Andre Miller and Oden for Parker +throwins. That's the best deal I could ever think of for the Spurs. Andre Miller = insane BB IQ and gets everyone involved, takes nothing but high percentage shots. Oden = a complete beast when healthy on defense(I realize he hasn't been healthy hardly at all). Oden, before he was hurt, looked like the strongest player in the NBA, even as a rookie. That includes Howard.
You weren't keeping up with pre-lockout trades. Miller is now (back) in Denver.
That's unfortunate. We're probably ed then.
There is no dominant team now. Both the Lakers and Celtics stars have aged out. If SA keeps the team together for maybe 2-3 years, they could maybe sneak another one in.
I know, I was being overdramatic. They've got a shot, but a player like Oden, along with an experienced pass-first PG is exactly what the team needs.
