Dana just said Fedor's Strikeforce days have to come to an end.
BREAKING: Fedor Emelianenko Released by Strikeforce Following Third Loss in a Row http://bit.ly/q5jH8c #fedor #ufc @danawhite @Strikeforce
Come on... Really Dana Really??
Dana is such an ass-hole..
this move allows him to fold strikeforce into UFC whenever he wants. Fedor will probably retire. I dont know many Jap leagues that would spring any interest. Either he fights in KSW, MFC or retires
He retires but it's a forced retirement.. Dana didn't even let him think about it for a month like Fedor said he was going to.. Fedor and Zuffa will never speak again..
This is exactly one of the reasons why if Fedor was going to lose against Hendo, I wanted it to be a FOTN type fight; even if Fedor was on a winning streak there was probably little chance he would have been moved to the UFC.
A fighter of his skill level deserved better.
The personal junk that went on with Fedor's team and Dana was so nasty and longstanding. Dana tried to sign him for like 4 years and it was just one public fight after another.. He used to refer to Fedor's manager as a crazy Russian.. I guess i should not be surprised.. Dana went as far as telling Tap-out they would be banned forever in the UFC if they didn't tear up their proposed T-Shirt deal with Fedor.. In Dana's world if you don't fight for the UFC you ain't .. So while Fedor's legacy would make it seem you can't ever cut him, in Dana's world he was just an over-paid over-rated piece of ..
Good Riddance...
For the sake of MMA history this should not have happened..
Dana White hints Strikeforce champ Dan Henderson could soon return to UFC's ranks http://bit.ly/qrypYH
Zuffa is just running out the old deals.. Hendo's is up at SF and he'll be back to his old UFC deal soon..
Well that is a revenge at it's purest for dana White kicking out Fedor.
he got opportunity and he took advantage of it.
Itr might be a shame but fedor is going nowhere. His game is the same and if it still at the same level he is gonna make more and more mistakes in fights.
2 or 3 yrs ago I said that UFC does not need Fedor. Fedor needed UFC more.
Now I wonder if this cut will shock Fedor and force him to prove he is still top fighter or he just let it go.
IMO Dana still thinks Fedor would bring some money but he wants it on his rules, something the crazy rusians would not let to happen ...
I don't think KSW has enough money to pay Fedor even though it would be a quick sellout I don't think tahy can pull this out. Esp. when you also have to find a worthy opponent for the legend
Some more quotes from Dana about Hendo possibly returning to the UFC: http://mmajunkie.com/news/24723/coul...ie.com+Feed%29
He mentions Machida looking for a fight; I wouldn't mind seeing Hendo vs Machida; IMO Henderson shouldn't get a le fight right away entering the UFC.
Fedor to keep fighting
Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko doesn't want to go out with a loss.
Emelianenko, recently shed from Zuffa's roster after suffering his third consecutive defeat, will fight again, management company M-1 Global announced Monday. Officials hope to hold the bout in Moscow or St. Petersburg in the fall, M-1 said.
"We consulted with Fedor and it was decided that he should not leave the sport in this way," said Vadim Finkelstein, M-1 Global president. "His friends and past opponents support Fedor in continuing his career and he agreed."
An opponent will be determined later, Finkelstein said.
After years as the consensus No. 1 heavyweight in mixed martial arts, Emelianenko has seen his fortunes spiral downward in Strikeforce since his last win, in November 2009. He mulled retirement after Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva defeated him in February, but decided to return for a July 30 fight with the much smaller Dan Henderson.
Strikeforce released Emelianenko after Henderson knocked him out. But Emelianenko has a contract with the Showtime network, which also carries M-1 events.
M-1 also hopes to feature Emelianenko on a Dec. 31 card in Japan. New Year's Eve traditionally is the biggest night of the year for the Japanese MMA industry.

Take this for what it's worth, considering it is coming from Dana himself
Fedor was Offered ‘Millions and Millions’ to Fight in the UFC
Remember the meeting held a couple of years ago between UFC president Dana White and former Pride champion Fedor Emelianenko and his management team from M-1 Global?
For the first time, White disclosed at least the ballpark figure that the UFC offered Emelianenko to come fight for their promotion when speaking to Dan Le Ba on his radio show in Miami.
The meeting went down after Zuffa purchased Pride, while Emelianenko was still universally ranked as the No. 1 heavyweight in the sport.
White flew out to an island to meet with the Russian and his team of representatives including M-1 Global leader Vadim Finkelstein.
“We went in there and negotiated, gave them a great offer to come in and fight in the UFC, and they turned it down. I said ‘let me tell you, you’re one punch away from being worth zero’ and I was wrong, he was one triangle choke away from being worth zero,” said White.
Following that time, Emelianenko opted to fight for Strikeforce in a series of co-promoted shows along with M-1 Global.
In Strikeforce, Emelianenko went 1-3, losing his last three fights in a row, most recently a TKO defeat to current light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson.
Following the defeat, Zuffa opted to not feature Emelianenko on any further Strikeforce cards, and White believes that revisionist history would see a much different result if they sat down in that room one more time.
“He’s lost three in a row now after the last offer we made him, and I guarantee you they lay in bed every night wishing they could go back,” White stated.
So just how much did Emelianenko leave on the table in that meeting?
Former M-1 Global employee Jerry Millen, who isn’t on the good side of his former employer or White, told MMAWeekly.com, “It was huge, huge money, and nobody is talking about how much money it was because Dana doesn’t want his guys to know what they offered Fedor to fight. You can’t say you’ve offered a figher $4 million to $5 million to fight because of his fighters found out they would would freak out.”
White didn’t get into specific numbers, and did not substantiate any claims of $4 million to $5 million dollars per fight, but did indicate the amount was substantial; probably more than any one fighter has been offered from day one to compete in the UFC.
“More than he’s ever made in his entire career, and more than he will ever see in the rest of his life. I’ll say this, and I haven’t said this anywhere else, millions and millions of dollars,” White confirmed.
Fedor’s representatives turned the offer down flat, wanting more concessions for M-1 Global on top of Fedor’s salary.
Hindsight is always 20/20, but in this particular case it appears White got his money’s worth out of Fedor Emelianenko… even though he never signed him.
http://mmaweekly.com/fedor-was-offer...ght-in-the-ufc
The sense i got is he was basically offered what Brock gets in terms of a base and if his PPV was huge than he might have made 4-5 mil a fight... GSP is rumored to be right there as well if his PPV is huge.. He supposedly made over 4 mil for UFC 100.. Something like 2.50 per ppv buy.. They said no because of that stupid co-promotion with M-1.. Fedor's dumb ass MGR wanted to piggy back his brand on UFC shows and The UFC rightfully told him to stuff it..
Fedor let his team dictate too much for his own career..
Jeff Monson Announces He is Facing Fedor Emelianenko at M-1 Global on Nov 12 in Russia http://ht.ly/6njc2 #MMA #Fedor
Fedor can get back on the win track and then decide what to do with his career...
The ancient world of mma has just fallen !
I think I really meant when I said that Fedor should give up after Werdum loss ...
Or at least after Silva
If he did not wanted to improve his game in a way he was suppose to ... It's over for a sportsmen in mma of today
Fedor never for a second cared about super-rich. Not what he was about at all.
He cared too much about what his management thought and wanted..
