Probably.
I thought we were talking presidential politics and how Perry's college transcripts make him too stupid to be a successful candidate.
Probably.
Just making an observation.
By the transcript, it looks like he's perfect for the job.
Just a thought. It used to be a far more utilized practice in the past than today. I even had a few teachers who graded in such a fashion.
Ever hear of "grading on a curve?" Anyone know if this was standard practice for A&M back then? I'll bet it was.
Not me. I haven't commented about his grades.
If that were the case, that means all the Cs and Ds Perry got were average or below average compared to his peers.
A president (or governor for that matter) shouldn't have an average or below average academic career.
You do, of course, realize education is not required at all to be elected President or Governor. So, what they should or shouldn't have, in the way of grades, is irrelevant.
Many people who have failed to apply themselves academically, while they were young, have matured and become quite successful. Governor Perry is (apparently) one such example.
I can't believe anyone really thinks this is going to be an issue for Perry.
Truth be told, everything is an issue to the media circus these days. You know it's going to be brought up. The question is if people will buy it.
Maybe but, his prospective opponents know it's a non-starter. Makes them look elitist to rag on a successful politician over college grades.
On the list...
Harry Truman, U.S. president. Never went to college.
If I thought this would be an issue I wouldn't be arguing, I'm arguing whether or not it SHOULD be an issue (like all political arguments, it means nothing in the grand scheme of things). Of all the things that hurt McCain, graduating 5th from the bottom of his class at the naval academy wasn't one of them, so obviously one's academic prestige doesn't carry too much weight in presidential or governor elections. I just think it should.
His prospective opponents probably don't care. Doesn't mean people won't.
Some people cared about Barry's birth certificate... his prospective opponents really didn't...
It will have the same affect then.
I know I'm a far different person at 42 then I was at 19. I'll probably be different at 60 than I am now.
How do you know?![]()
But huffpo publishing his transcript and the Newsweak cover of Bachman are the political equivalent of what 13 yr old girls do to each other on social networks.
I'm sure Fox has never shown a Democrat in a bad light...![]()
You equated the two, not me.
I didn't. I said that what candidates use and what people buy are different things.
How do you know they'll have the same effect?
I can't think of one...that didn't put themselves in the position to be shown in such a light.
I said, "Then" they will have the same effect in response to your equating the two.
I have no idea what effect it will have, I just don't see Perry's opponents trying to use it in their campaign so, it'll be relegated to being kicked around in places like this.
