Bethesda held a private screening at Quake Con, its been taken down on several sites, but here is a working link (at the time of this posting).

Game footage starts at about the 5 minute mark.
At about the 25 minute mark the video goes out of sync by quite a bit. Just FYI.

xbox users have a gang sign?![]()
i noticed that too
all the dual wield stuff looks amazing, as does the magic. Staffs and swords? sure! Fireballs and axes? you bet.
love that bows are actually useful now too. Gonna be awesome
Been playing through Oblivion as a nord to get ready for this. November can't come soon enough
Watched it Sunday. So ing excited.
as a matter of fact....................yes, yes indeed
you guys and the games. Such passion...I almost admire it.
The perk tree looks awesome. Oblivion was such a pain in the ass to improve in anything because you only improved in certain things quickly.
I have a game going of over 175 hours and I'm only a level 42 or so. I don't think I've leveled in over 24 hours of game time because I pretty much maxed out so early on my major traits and it takes so long to increase your minor ones.
I'm sorry but there's no way I'm watching 40 minutes of gameplay footage. That's like watching porn but not being able to jack off. What's the point of watching a game, they are meant to be played.
Five minutes, ten maybe, but forty? Maybe if it was a game based on the Bunny Ranch or something.
Only about 30 minutes(if that) of actual gameplay. Still great. Frenzy looks so gnarly.
I fell asleep 5 mins in...
Woke up and my co-worker was watching the video![]()
My feed wigged out at the end.
Interface looks quite good, gameplay looks "better" than Oblivion.
But really, its the RPG experience with Elder Scrolls. The towns being alive, the guilds, the side quests, basically everything that had nothing to do with the main quest.
Looks badass.
It looks amazing, but it sucks the game world isn't the size of Oblivion's. That's one of the things that made Oblivion so much fun.
I could have sworn that in the linked video, when he was showing the map interface (badass, btw), he said "The world is much, much larger than Oblivion".
All that means is it's going to have more in it per square foot. You wont get miles and miles of trees.
When watching it yesterday I remember them saying something like it wasn't going to be as large a game world as Oblivion's, but that there would be more going on in it (bad paraphrase, but I don't want to watch the video again).
I liked that you had to explore a lot to find things in Oblivion. A smaller game world might really diminish the sandbox nature of the game.
why doesn't the Dragon just step on you? or grab you and throw you to your death? or just eat you whole? or chop you in half with his claws?
also I thought fire couldn't kill or even hurt Dragons, or is that just according to George Martin?
anyways, giant fail on the Dragon part IMO
Skyrim
Only thing that sucks is the Halo: CE remake comes out 5 days after Skyrim so I'm going to have to put a lot of hours into it before that
I've read an article where they said it was only, "slightly smaller, but packed with more content". I also believe they said there's actually more area that you can explore since there were a bunch of mountains in Oblivion where you couldn't really do anything
I'll try to find it
cuz he's got a dragon soul , and in a game I think it would be really dumb not to be able to kill something like a dragon with fire... that would actually make the game fail more being limited to what you could do to your enemies.
