It amazes me how they want to remake films that there is nothing wrong with at all. They are perfectly fine to be the original forever. No way that it will be topped. Noone will remember the remake in this instance the same way noone remembers or gives a f about the piece of crap karate kid remake in the same way we dont give a damn about the Texas Chainsaw remake or the newer nightmare on elm street, and the same i predict for the disgrace wannabe remake of Fright Night. etc. It's all frickin trash.

Are you kidding? I'll give you the fact that Mark Harmon can't be replaced but can you imagine the upgrades on the other characters? How much hotter the preggo could be. How much better the Special FX guys could be. Not to mention they could easily pick up a hotter version of the chick that couldn't drive.
The only thing that would worry me is that they would Put Ryan Reynolds as Mr. Shoop and probably Kate Hudson instead of Kirstie Alley.

I was in love with Courtney Thorne-Smith but as hot as I thought she was she could easily be replaced by any young tramp actress.

Although, given that the big obstacle to overcome in the film was a standardized test (and Schoop's job security being directly tied into it, albeit by an insane wager with a school administrator rather than federal regulations) it's one of those films where a remake may actually be topical enough to fathom.

Listen SFIE, I know... Summer School is a favorite of mine too. The thing is if they are going to remake any movie why not remake a movie like that one? It could be kick ass. It really could be.


I think I am going to open up a theater that shows nothing but all those cool older movies. All I would need is one or two screens and I could make a ton of dough off of nostalgia. I would even do a dress up in 80's or 90's night and get free popcorn and neon colored sunglasses.

One movie I wish they'd redo, or just've done better the first time, is The Cell. JLo and Vaughan made that movie unbearable at times.
