Casey singing with Jack Black was beyond weird, but overall the finale didn't suck. Also Haley was so awkward with Tony Bennett. I don't like country music but didn't mind Scotty winning. I think he's probably a genuine good kid and will find success in his niche.
They had a pretty star-studded lineup of guest performances. Is the finale always like that? (I have never watched Idol til this season.)

I didn't really get the pairing of Haley and Tony Bennett tbh. I thought they would have paired her with someone like Nicks, or Morrisette...or even Adele. I think that would have made a better pairing and not so awkward.
Overall I thought the finale was pretty good. I thought for sure Lauren would win after last nights AI's attempt to sway the votes her way. Glad Scotty won! He performed well with Tim McGraw! A few comments about some of the top 13 contestants:
James Durbin- LOL, looked kind of gay in that get up of leather clothes and cap! Better suited for the Village People!Good performance though.
Casey Abrams- Jack Black sounded better than Casey!! Casey may not be a good singer but I think he has a place in acting! I think he could be a funny guy! Similar to Jack.
Haley Reinhart- I like when she sings jazz! Her beautiful voice really comes out! It was an awkward pairing with Tony Bennett though.
AI's ratings for the performance finale were 6.2...down 6.7 from last year, so I read.
Even after the ratings were a lot higher than previous years in the beginning of the season, they clearly lost a lot of that viewership along the way.

Scotty won't be a big country star. He'll have a short lived exciting start with the younger crowd but won't come near the success of Carrie Underwood. Suck it up while you can Scotty and there will be much hotter babes in his future.

I didn't know Gaga was going to be on She wasn't amazing but I was glad she was live instead of being pre-recorded like she was previously.
I can't believe Priest did that. Glenn didn't look all too comfortable out there. I wonder if they'll get any flak over that. They kinda thrusted themselves up to Gene Simmon'siz territory.
