That was actually fairly believable for me, tbh. I don't see why two different apes wouldn't be able to communicate if they both knew the same language. Way bigger scientific holes than that.

Manny, I'm not trying to be a wise guy when I say this, but does your theater show that little kid promo for a children's hospital before movies (like a preview) with the little kid named Adriane where he is doing all these impersonations?

Getting kind of sick of post credit scenes, tbh. Assholes are making me wait through all these damn pointless credits to see .
It's not through all of them, but it is after a minute or two. The only reason I caught it is I saw the movie with someone who had seen it before. I would've missed it otherwise.

Well the reason I asked is because the little kid looks like you and I always laugh.

So I was able to watch the final scene mentioned above online. Do not believe this was a setup for sequels, to be honest. It does however, make an excellent case for tying in how the apes overcome humans and why they are primitive in the first movie.

    Pretty damn brilliant scene, actually.

IT was set up for sequels.. The director is already talking about it.. They want to show the transition of how the apes completely took over the planet

you could start this story again eight years from where we left off, the next generation of apes, those that have come from our protagonists, perhaps going in to a conflict with humans and showing real fear, in the same way as going into war for young soldiers in this day and age, telling their story. Or how apes are taking over cities, and being moved into human environments and having to interact with them and deal with things that are part of our culture and understand and evolve through them. Spies that are in the employ of the apes,

Thats interesting. Not sure how that scene promotes sequels though. It was obviously meant to show how they were going to spread the plauge which I felt was going to be the virtual end of mankind. Basically, the apes didn't have to fight them to take over the world. I guess I shouldn't be surprised the director wants to make sequels though. Its a shame because the movie would be really good just left alone as a lead in to the other films.

When the credits started, I whispered to my gf "that virus is going to end up wiping out 95% of humanity"...then 20 seconds later the last scene came up lulz.

I just took the very last scene as summing up what happens to humanity for the people that haven't seen the originals. I loved this movie. It makes me want to watch the originals again now.

Finally watched this on BRD on my home theatre.
8/10 and a worthy reboot IMO. I hope there are more POTA films to follow that are done this way.
I would have preferred a more brutally graphic realistic approach to apes pummeling cops on a bridge....not enough blood, but thats the game with film ratings these days(PG-13 is preferred by movie studio's vs R).

So many references to the original '68 classic in this film too...i liked that.
    Looking forward to a sequel.
